BOMBERS SIGN BIGHILL

WINNIPEG, MB. – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has signed International linebacker Adam Bighill to a one-year contract.

Bighill (5’10, 230, Central Washington, October 16, 1988 in Montesano, WA.) played six seasons with the BC Lions (2011-2016), recording 509 defensive tackles, 70 special teams tackles, eight interceptions, eight forced fumbles and 33 sacks in 99 career CFL games (85 starts). Bighill is a four-time CFL All-Star and five-time CFL Western All-Star.

“The opportunity to add such a dynamic defensive player to our lineup was one that we simply could not pass up,” said General Manager Kyle Walters. “Not only is he one of the most dominant linebackers in the CFL, but by all accounts, his work ethic and leadership are two of his strongest attributes, making him a perfect fit for our locker room. We’re very excited to welcome Adam to the organization.”

In 2015, Bighill led the CFL with 117 tackles and was named the CFL’s Top Defensive Player. After earning his fourth CFL All-Star award in 2016, Bighill signed with the New Orleans Saints. After a strong pre-season performance, Bighill earned a spot on the Saints' opening week active roster. He went on to play three games that season before being waived in May, 2018. He was also a part of BC’s 2011 Grey Cup champion team.

Solid signing by the Bombers, they will need to release a big salary to afford Bighill.
Pushes the Bombers up a notch or two in the standings.

OMG, that was the Bombers weak spot last season with Sam Hurl (now a Rider). The Bombers just got a heluva lot better.

Huge signing for the Bombers. Massive upgrade from Hurl.

This is such a huge signing and officially relegates the riders to be fighting it out with BC to stay out of the basement. My top three
1-Edmonton
2-Winnipeg
3-Calgary
Than BC and Sask for 4th and 5th and if Jennings returns to form than BC challenges Stamps for 3rd and riders than last.

I didn't realize that Bighill plays in the secondary now... could have sworn he was a linebacker. I guess he's the answer to fixing one of the worst secondaries in the CFL.
