The Rams’ other three conference home games will feature UBC in Week 3, Alberta in Week 6, and Saskatchewan to close out the regular season in Week 8.
The Rams will also have a home exhibition game on the schedule for the first time since 2014, with Manitoba slated to pay a visit to Regina on Wednesday, Aug. 22. That will break a streak of three consecutive years where the Rams had travelled to Medicine Hat to open up the season with an exhibition game against Calgary.
The U of R’s road schedule includes Alberta (Week 2), Saskatchewan (Week 4), Manitoba (Week 5), and Calgary (Week 7).
The postseason begins the first weekend of November and continues with the 82nd Hardy Cup, which will likely be played on Saturday, Nov. 10. The Canada West champion will advance to the Mitchell Bowl against the OUA champion, with the winner of that game advancing to the Vanier Cup against the Uteck Bowl victors.
Exact dates and times for the eight conference games will be released in April.
NOTES: The Rams expect to return 77 players from last year’s roster ... the list of returning players includes 10 offensive starters, eight offensive starters, and Canada West all-stars Nick Cross, Noah Picton, and Atlee Simon.
