The Saskatchewan Roughriders held an open practice on Hallowe'en Day at Mosaic Stadium. Players Crezdon Butler (The Flash), Jovon Johnson (Captain America) and Dan Clark (Sully) dressed up in Hallowe'en costumes to commemorate the day.

"They're humans, and we've got an interesting group," smiled Riders Head Coach & GM Chris Jones. "It's a buncha real good guys."

Meanwhile Jones provided a list of roster updates for Saturday's home game against the Edmonton Eskimos (5:00 pm, TSN, 620 CKRM Rider Radio Network).

Running backs Trent Richardson and Cameron Marshall will miss the game due to injury, along with receiver Naaman Roosevelt and linebacker Sam Eguavoen.

Meanwhile Jones said Marcus Thigpen will return to the lineup as the starting tailback.

If the Riders win Saturday, they'll finish in third place and stay in the CFL West for the playoffs. However if they lose, they'll finish in fourth place and crossover into the East.

"We're not worried about the playoffs. We're worried about this football game," Jones announced. "We're going to play the best football that we possibly can play and the healthy bodies that we have, we'll send out there to compete against Edmonton."

Despite not having their top roster, quarterback Kevin Glenn said it's important the team enters the playoffs on a roll.

"They're big on stats here," Glenn said Tuesday. "They did this thing on stats for the past 10 Grey Cup champs and they printed out their record over the past three or four games of the season and they all had winning records going into the playoffs, especially the last two or three games."

Wednesday's Day 2 practice will be closed.

The EE are flying high right now. A 4 game wining streak capped with a victory over their pesky Alberta neighbours to the South. The Riders have to keep in mind that they went into Calgary and did a better job of robbing Bo and company. With a told you so pick 6 eat your tweet Duron Carter INT.
My only concern being the Riders played real sloppy the next week against a bad opponent. Where as Reilly and the EE had to play at the top of their game.
I’m thinking with the beat down the Riders gave Reilly in Edmonton. Combined with what is to be a very loud and hostile crowd at mosaic. That the Riders pull through in good fashion.
You know it’s going to be a good game because Reilly competes and they want a chance at a home playoff game.
Man O man. How that dumb loss to Ottawa has come back to bite the Riders in the ass. Up by 12 with less than 3 minutes and they folded like a cheap lawn chair. It looked like every SK player was looking for someone else to step up and make a play. That was a bad way to learn a lesson. Right now the Riders could be fighting for a home playoff game.
