Regina, Saskatchewan – The Regina Pats got a goal and an assist from both Jeff de Wit and Koby Morrisseau but fell 3-2 in a shootout to the Prince Albert Raiders on Friday night at the Brandt Centre.

Prince Albert scored once in the first and then made it 2-0 at the midway point of the second. de Wit then cut into the lead with a powerplay goal, his seventh of the pre-season, and it was 2-1 after 40 minutes.

In the third, Koby Morrisseau tied it with his second which forced overtime and then a shootout. It took until the eighth round for a game winner, Devon Skoleski scored and the Raiders won 3-2.

The Pats outshot Prince Albert 35-25 in the defeat, the powerplay was one for four and the penalty kill five for five.

What’s Next?

Ugly game with no flow or skill. Once again the Pats took abuse all night long, and really only responded after PA punked DeWitt in the 3rd. This isn't no league of love-ins. Sorry Vanstone, and Coach Paddock you need tough guys and play a physical game to win. No big surprises out of training camp. Looks like a bunch of mediocre talent. There is neither the skill or toughness to do anything in the WHL. Vanstone can watch the ballet elsewhere.
