STAMPEDERS 41 ARGONAUTS 24

TORONTO - Bo Levi Mitchell threw three TD passes and Roy Finch had a punt-return touchdown for the second straight game as the Calgary Stampeders defeated the Toronto Argonauts 41-24 on Thursday night.

Mitchell finished 19-of-24 passing with 249 yards for Calgary (5-1-1). He cemented the win with a nine-yard TD strike to Marquay McDaniel to open the second half and put the Stampeders comfortably ahead 34-10 before 11,616 spectators at BMO Field.

Mitchell hit McDaniel on a 10-yard TD pass at 4:05 of the fourth to boost Calgary's lead to 41-13. The Stampeders moved atop the West Division ahead of the Edmonton Eskimos (5-0), who host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (0-5) on Saturday night.

Calgary was coming off a lopsided 60-1 home win over Hamilton on Saturday. Finch, who served a two-game suspension this season for violating the CFL's drug policy, returned a punt 97 yards for a TD in that contest.

But playing for the second time in five nights didn't stop Calgary from earning its seventh straight win over Toronto and third consecutive victory overall.

Mitchell also improved to 7-0 against Toronto and 48-8-2 overall as a CFL starter. Calgary is 29-6-2 versus East teams since 2013.

Sad to see Ricky Ray take a pounding tonight....again. Calgary is just dominant right now. Can't wait to see Edmonton and Calgary back to back starting Labor Day Weekend.

It doesn't seem to matter which Stampeder gets injured or moves on to the NFL. They just replace him with a guy that's just as good. I hate them but am I ever jealous.

Can't wait to see the Riders take another crack at the Stamps. Riders are a team on the rise.

Canada's team, no doubt about that.

No surprise that with 2 short weeks in a row Ray is getting worn down. Crazy schedule for them.

Talking about the Stamps replacing the few guys injured and the few guys for the NFL brings me to mention that the Eskimos have lost the same number to the NFL if not more and have I believe 18 to 20 guys on the injured list...undefeated yet, that team is a bit scary.

Talk about being delusional... Calgary and Edmonton aren't even Alberta's favorite teams! Rider pride is nation wide!!!

I can't see anybody beating Calgary for the rest of this regular season.

Yep I actually didn't mind the eskies for a time when they were basically us right now.. but now I'm back to hating them the most .. and their entitled fans who continually troll this blog. Blech! I'd cheer for the stamps over you a holes any day!! Hard to argue their sustained success

If the Eskies are so popular reply number 2 how come I've never seen an Eskimos fan outside of Edmonton. Ive lived in bc and Saskatchewan and been to Edmonton many times but I've never seen an Eskimos fan that wasn't in Edmonton. We get your team is good but you'll never have fans like Saskatchewan.

And we are the entitled ones...name calling just shows the maturity level...keep it classy.

Guess you don't watch many football games then because for one there was a group at the riders game last year on TSN and guess you haven't been to many Grey Cups now have you...always loads of us there. EasternFootballisajoke should pay attention a little bit more before talking.
