The Eastern Division leading Regina Red Sox came out bats swinging against Melville winning 10-2 in front of a season high crowd of 926 at Currie Field.

Jordan Schulz, the Strasbourg, SK native smacked a first inning home run to give the Red Sox a lead they would not relinquish. Broderick Rodocker continued to dominate WMBL pitching with a pair of hits and two RBI. Nolan Ard and Justin Erlandson each had three hits for the Sox.

Will Moore, the sophomore from Taft Community College, made his fourth start of the season. Moore pitched 5.1 innings allowing just two runs and three hits in his winning effort.

He turned the game over to Preston Minor in the fifth inning. Minor threw 1.2 scoreless innings. Local Regina product, Kendal Daniels came on in the eighth inning and Justin Magstadt was flawless in the ninth.

Melville sent Mason Furlong to the hill. He left the game after a rough 2.1 innings. The left hander from Beach City, TX was pegged with the loss giving up eight runs on seven hits. The Millionaire bullpen kept the Sox hitters at bay the rest of the game with a combined two runs on five hits.

Third baseman Vinny Martin had a hit, walk and run in a losing cause for Melville.

With the victory over the Money Men, the Red Sox are now 14-6 and sit in first place in the Eastern Division. Melville dropped to 5-15.

Regina has a well-deserved day off on Tuesday before heading to Tom Laing Park to battle the Weyburn Beavers on Wednesday.
