AIR CANADA TO START VS WINNIPEG

(Photo Riderville.com/Mike Orthner)

SASKATOON - Roughriders Head Coach & GM Chris Jones announced after Friday's walk-through that Canadian QB Brandon Bridge will start Saturday's preseason game against Winnipeg at New Mosaic Stadium.

Jones said he "thought long and hard" about which direction to go, but settled on the 3-year veteran Bridge. Jones didn't say how much he'll play, but next up in the rotation will be Bryan Bennett followed by rookie Marquise Williams.

Veteran Kevin Glenn wasn't mentioned.

If he's Air Canada, he's gotta be junk. Now if he was nicknamed "Westjet"!

There was an article on a site on fb that predicted the riders last again with a 6-12 record. calgary 15-3 bc 12-5 Eskies 11-7 winnipeg 11-7 riders 6-12

The only way any Doubles will be starting for us is if KG gets injured.

Great Sleep Brandon. Most of us know that it isn't just an exhibition game! You are a part of our future and momentum. Just shoot for 18 completions in the first half and Green is the colour.

Thanks for being here!

Go Riders

I agree with the standings order completely though I don't think Calgary will win 15 again. The Riders should be closer to Winnipeg this year. The Bombers had a so-so offence & were bad on defence except for the turnovers. It was nice that Medlock kicked a record number of field goals but the bad news is the Bombers couldn't convert drives into TD's, settling for 3 too often. I don't see them in a dead heat with Edmonton. The Esks were a top offensive team, #1 in the CFL in net offence, first downs, passing TD's, completion %, offensive TD's & 2nd down conversion. Yes, they lost Walker but have Zylstra & Hazleton. They also had the #2 running attack behind BC - all this with a completely new coaching staff, learning new offence & defence systems & losing 3 games in OT. They added some pieces on defence & gave up the fewest passing yards the last 6 games when they started to mesh. Bottom line - you never know with injuries but the Bombers aren't up there with Cal, BC or Edm. The betting odds in Vegas for 2017 Grey Cup - Cal, BC, Edm, Ham, Ott, Mtl, Wpg, Sask, Tor. Despite their good season last year, the oddsmakers don't like Wpg. The West ranking is the same as noted above.
