QB HEAPS LEAVES RIDERS FOR SEAHAWKS

Heaps in camp with the Riders last week
Backup quarterback Jake Heaps has re-signed with the Seattle Seahawks. The Seattle Times reported that Heaps announced the move on social media on Monday.

The move comes less than a week after Heaps participated in a minicamp with the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders in Florida.

The 25-year-old out of Issaquah, was on the Seahawks roster during the off-season last year and was part of Seattle’s practice squad in 2016. He was also on the Jets roster between May and August of 2015.

Heaps guided Skyline High School to 4A Washington state titles in 2008 and 2009. He was the top rated quarterback prospect coming out of high school, before playing at BYU, Kansas and the University of Miami.

I take it Jones had released him.

Just wondering how he looked at mini camp Rod and do you think he's good enough for the NFL?

Heaps was at the mini camp smart one...he has to be signed first before Jones would have to release him. He is free to go with no contract in place.

I thought he looked excellent. Not a real big guy but he was fearless with his throws and very composed. Very strong arm, but I'd hope any QB in the NFL possesses that quality.

I'm sure the Rider fan conspiracy theorists will be all over this. Something to the effect of..... Someone (Rider hater haha) immediately sent video of mini camp after it ended back to Seattle so they would resign the QB (as training camp fodder) and the Riders would lose out. As long as Jones and company are part of the Riders. Rider President Craig Reynolds will pay for stealing the Evil Empires Coaching staff as well as all the thunder of the 2015 Grey Cup Victory.
An ex player underground league wide conspiracy is afoot (kickers) or at hand (receivers) ... Not really but it sure is fun to say!!!

signed: Jake the Snake
CFL BESIDER (actually undersider)
Belly so low, I am not conspicuous when I listen in on Conspiracies.

This is a quote from last weeks MMG.

3 - As far as the depth chart goes coming out of camp, CKRM's Luc Mullinder rated them as follows: 1) Kevin Glenn, 2) Bryan Bennett, 3/4) A tie between Vince Young and Jake Heaps and, 5) Brandon Bridge. This assessment is from Luc's trained eye, but comes without the benefit of the analytics and passing stats that Jones and his staff are privy to.

I watched a lot of Jake Heaps in college, quite a few of them live.

Jake Heaps always looked great in practice but in the game, when things move fast, he wasn't accurate and under pressure he made poor decisions and threw bad passes and picks. He absolutely drove me nuts. There's a reason he flamed out at three different colleges you know.

He's a good guy and I wish him the best, but as a Rider fan I'm not upset to see him in Seattle.

Josh Freeman worked out for Stamps & dropped from negotiation list. Quick, Jones, get him on. Freeman 6'6" 240 lbs 13,873 yards passing 57.6% 81 TDs 68 INT's & just turned 29. He's even bigger than the biggest QB you ever saw, Rod, Vince Young, & has better stats. Vince Young, turning 34 this month, 6'5" 232 lbs 8,964 yards passing 57.9% 46 TDs 51 INTs. Just goes to show for those who say Vince will shred the line & run over everybody, it doesn't matter how big you are, sometimes you're not suited for the CFL.

No No No No !!!! No need to recruit anymore qbs you idiots of Saskatchewan, the Roughriders already have Armanti Edwards right under their nose signed to player contract. Good qb, very good qb. How more stupid can you country hicks be? Infinity probably.
