RIDERS LOSE WEBSTER TO TORONTO

TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts continued to add to their Canadian content Friday signing defensive back Matt Webster.

Webster, a 5-11, 195-pound native of Calgary, Alberta, spent the last three seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, who selected him in the fifth round (39th overall) in the 2014 CFL Draft. In 36 career CFL games, he has registered 32 defensive tackles and 21 special teams tackles. He saw his most productive CFL season come in 2015 when he registered 21 defensive tackles and nine special teams tackles in 17 games.

The Queen's University product notched 82.5 tackles, four interceptions, eight pass breakups, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery with the Gaels.

Obviously a Jays fan! Why else would you want to play in Toronto! No coach,no GM,no fans. Great career move buddy!

Yeah he went to Toronto to watch baseball...my lord can you go and hide somewhere. Probably will get more playing time on that team and maybe doesn't like how Jones is doing things as so many others haven't either. Maybe he does love the city of Toronto and that is a plus to him, who are you to say.

yeah who would want to live in Toronto when they could live in Regina. you guys are frickin hilarious.

Argos are a basket case! Team will fold unless bailed out by the rest of the league! Even then, the fans don't care. Who would want to play there?

Toronto sucks! :-)

Yeah and back in the day the Saskatchewan Roughriders were also bailed out by the rest of the CFL so what is the difference. Also just so you know with the situation happening in Toronto they managed to tie for the worst record in the Cfl and guess with what team...yours truly the SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS, so now please tell me how much the Argos suck when your riders are at the exact same record...hold on so I can get the popcorn for this story hahahaha.

Argos are dead men walking

Got your bowl of popcorn ready? Good because the CFL did not bail out the Riders the province of Sask did. Not like Toronto and B.C having one owner pay the bill for 2 teams. T.O can barely get 10,000 people to a game but yet the Riders with a below average record can still pack the seats to capacity. Its called a rebuild for us after the last regime left us with nothing. I undestand football is King here but seriuosly with T.O population compared to ours you still can not drag people out to watch. I want Toronto in the league it is good for business but you cannot compare apples to oranges have fun with your new coach and g.m which is who

Also give me the count of cups Toronto has compared to Sask...this is very it gets very interesting because it's 18 to 4 in favor of the Argos.

Toronto has the Blue Jays, Raptors, and Maple Leafs to compete with and then are close to NFL teams which makes it a lot harder to compete with...who do the riders compete with other then the Whl and the farmers daughter...nobody, so this is all they have to support which makes it a lot easier to support. The Riders were just about bankrupt in the 80's at some point and read an article about the Cfl assisting them.

Yah because before the salary cap all the others teams bought and paid for their grey cups because they mysteriuosly always had money. I am not even that old to have been around for the 70's and 80's match ups but i have read and have watched enough to know that anthing before 07 most of the teams were bought and paid for thanks to deep pockets wich we did not have. So you can brag about all your so called championships but if it was not for the hand outs you would not have shit

The Riders were never bailed out by the rest of the league. They handled their own financing with Telethons and Lotteries.

Right it's 18 to 4. Before the cap came in. The Toronto Argos brain trust often over paid for good players when they knew damn well they could afford them. Only to go right back into the financial depth trap. Great to say how many Champuobships you won. Yet it sure sucks to say we are on the steps of financial disaster.

Toronto used to buy Grey Cups before the salary cap

Argos down to only Willy as the Qb...I see a Franklin trade coming to the Argos

All you Sask fans say that about any team above you on that list...seems that all teams other then yourselves had no issues with no salary cap. There was one team that complained about having the salary cap until it was brought in and that same first year the salary cap was brought in that same team that complained about it until it was brought in broke the rules by exceeding it and also won the grey cup by doing it...can you name this whiner and cheating team, I can give you a hint, they have an S on there helmet for a logo and green and white coloured jersey's. Don't talk about buying cups when you guys did the same thing by going over the cap.

Mr. David Braley personally bailed the Roughriders out of financia deficit plus othera.
