NEW MOSAIC STADIUM SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION OPENING

That is NOT an artist's rendering. That's from the SE corner of New Mosaic Stadium off my camera!

From the Northwest lower concourse ...

Field level, Southwest corner ...

Concourse, Southwest corner ...

Thanks to Rod Schmidt and Nathan Morrison from the City of Regina for the tour ...

Nice wide concourses ...

The loading dock below ground level on the Southwest corner.  It's 450 feet long ...

Visitors locker room ..

Tight squeeze!

Showers in visitors locker room.  We weren't able to get into the Roughriders' locker room ...

Rod Schmidt in the bowels of the stadium on the west side ...

Bring 'Em Out!

Riders' entrance tunnel. This was very exciting to see!

TSN broadcast booth ...

Club seating, second level, on the west side.  Season tickets here will run you roughly $3,500.

More of the second level club lounge ...

The "open" concept I wasn't too good at communicating to fans a few months ago. From the third level, you can see down into the second level ...

CBC's Adam Hunter illustrates the magnitude of the "secondary" video scoreboard ...

Suite level on the east side ...

Luxury boxes ...

A real nice touch with the Rider logos on the outdoor luxury suites ...

The General Admission Lounge on the west side where today's news conference was held, and the official "turning over of the keys" to the Saskatchewan Roughriders ...

620 CKRM, front and centre ...

From here we'll be broadcasting Wednesday's SportsCage live on 620 CKRM ...

Mayor Michael Fougere on our show ..

Endzone party zone ...

Entrance gates to your park.

Evening shot, after our show.

Thanks City of Regina and the Riders for the Royal Treatment!

Finally! And wow, it looks incredible. And I imagine the Rider specific facilities will be all the more impressive upon completion. I really hope it can bring in some amazing talent our way.

It looks amazing, glad it belongs to Sask.

Looks like Regina can now officially hand off the baton for worst stadium in North America to Calgary

Got my Rams ticket in the mail. Really looking forward to Oct 1.

Really wish they would get to me about my season tickets already...

I'm sure if we wait long enough the Trolls will have something idiotic to say about this beautiful facility. The always seem to be able to find a new low. The nice thing is none of them have enough money to get into these games, and believe me we're better off without them.

I've got my Rams tickets last week.

Thanks for all the photos.

I hear the Rams game there is almost sold out, except for some season ticket flex packs that include an October 1st ticket.

The photos are great. Can't wait to see if for myself. Sure hope the fans will get to see the Rider's side of the facility once it is done. I would love to see what we are paying for.

Great pics Rod! How many times did you pinch yourself saying that this is all ours!! It's absolutely spectacular! This is well deserved for the fans and people of this great province. This will attract players without question and I hope that we see steady improvement this year and into next year. Thanks again for the tour!!

No worries, I'm sure the local village idiot will be hosting his own news conference to voice his disgust at what a crappy white elephant the stadium is and how he's going to run for mayor again to take down the corrupt regime that built it.

That stadium looks absolutely amazing. As good as any NFL stadium other than the capacity

The pillars that look like the "old" Mosaic benches are awesome. Cool touch.

Wow! That really does look amazing!

The only (and I truly mean only) thing I don't like about new stadium is being built in the worst neighbourhood in western Canada. They are catching kids breaking into the place weekly and it's not even open yet. You will never get other businesses building in that cesshole of Regina, and that's really too bad, cause the stadium could have been an anchor for an entertainment area.

The locker room appears to be very semi pro, lets jam Klaif in one of those locker room stalls and see what he thinks.

Looks great!

As for the tight squeeze comment how is a lineman going to fit in there?

Seems kinda weird.

They are the actual benches...we were all wondering why they replaced parts of the benches on the east side when we were at the first game this year. Thinking, why replace them when the place is done. Now that I see the photos today, I know where the benches went. :)

No pee troughs? WTH?

Riders have a futility gene in their DNA. See the talent like Jonathan Jennings they nuked. Looks like he's good enough to be 7-3 in BC in year 2, but not good enough out of a Rider mini-camp.

Where's the ROOF?

Yes it is a huge improvement from Ole Taylor Field / Mosaic Stadium but it only serves football, some weddings, receptions plus the odd concert?

After listening to the marketing people today on the radio I learned the Roughriders now have different levels of fans which include ELITE fans in ELITE sections. Yes Elite fans pay more for their seats but how strong is their $ loyalty?

As a non-elite fan I will continue to support the few Riders and the many tourist/players as best I can and wish them success in their ole stadium!

It is a brilliant design, in the future we can spend the extra 100 million $ to enclose the south end and put on the retractable roof if we choose. This stadium will be louder than Winnipeg,it is more enclose than Winnipeg,Winnipeg stadium is like the Seattle Seahawks with 2 roofs on both sides. This stadium look great when you walk in at ground level and the lower seating section goes down 20 to 30 feet in the ground it gives you that depth perception in 3D
compare to looking at it on the computer in 2D.

I can't believe the childish attitude of both the engineer that designed it and the powers that approved putting in child sized accommodations in the visitors locker room.

Unbelievable!

Come to think of it. Jim Hopson approved all this. I'd like to see him fit in one of those stalls.

The old regime screwed up with regards to the Jonathon Jennings fiasco! That's the unfortunate part as seeing a guy like Jennings get away like that.. damn shame! .. oh well..

I want to hug those pictures.

SO excited for the new digs!

My seats are directly across from your radio booth. Fantastic view. Thanks for the pics!

Looks great too bad it will be used very little the first year. Locker spaces seem very small for football players, Rod barely fit in it?

Anthony said...

Looks amazing! A well timed distraction ahead of this labor day game. Now we just need to win and I'll be even more excited about the new stadium!

I think those lockers are to store your clothes, personal belongings and not to sit in. Most locker rooms provide a stool or a bench in front of the lockers to sit on and get dressed to play.

Looks like a beautiful stadium but don't hold your breath when it comes to your season ticket seat assignment. My seats were downgraded from the 33 yard line to about the 5 yard line and I've been told I'll have to take my chances during the seat improvement week in Feb if I want better seats. I'm totally disappointed and will probably not renew my season tickets as I can't stomach the down grade despite the "every seat is a great seat" mantra. Sour grapes...yep.

Is that based on a social study of internet behaviour correlated with income or are you just making things up?

No wonder Rod gets his way all the time and gets into all the fancy schmantzy events in Regina. He takes his bombshell wife with him. Someone here once said Tiffany Lizee is the best looking woman in Regina? Not even close, Mrs. Sportscage all the way.

Surprised Remple wasn't there trying to get in on all the photo ops.
