The Saskatchewan Roughriders have announced the release of international quarterback Bryant Moniz.

Moniz signed with the Roughriders on Saturday, June 25/2016.  He appeared in both of the Roughriders' regular season games, taking just two snaps and fumbling on both occasions.

Here's his bio from the Rider news release from three weeks ago:

Moniz (6'0 – 205) joins the Riders after spending the last two seasons with the Calgary Stampeders. The 27-year-old dressed for all 36 regular season contests as a backup, completing two of four pass attempts for 29 yards and a touchdown. Moniz added 35 rush attempts for 98 yards and six touchdowns as the Stamps deployed him in short yardage situations.

The University of Hawaii product won his first Grey Cup in 2014 as a member of the Stampeders.

Didn't really get much of a chance. Here for a couple of days, put in lineup as 3rd QB, given the ball in first game and fumbles. I guess tho that he should have been able to at least take the snap and hold on to the ball

2 fumbles in 2 games only taking 2 snaps. The 1st fumble was ran back for a TD. The second was in Riders territory. Both of his fumbles played huge into each game. Without those turnovers an defensive points scored. The Riders might be sitting at 1-1 or maybe even 2-0 if Momentum was gained by the 3rd down gamble against Toronto.
Meaning that if the drive was kept alive and Darian marched for a TD. The half time score would have been 14-14 instead of 21-7. That turnover for a TD really hurt the Riders chances in the 1st game.
After the 1st game you would think that the bad experience would have made him hold onto the ball no matter what on the second chance in game 2 ... I don't think anyone is shocked or even cares about this transaction. It was time to go.
My Son said since he played for the Stamps for 2 years that he was a Calgary sympathizer and was sent to sabotage the Green and White. That was funny but momentarily had me pause. Then I came back to my senses. haha
