The Regina Red Sox had a successful return to Currie Field Tuesday night defeating division rival Weyburn 6-3.  Regina jumped out to a 3-0 lead and hung on to beat the Beavers for the third time this season.

Regina sent Andrew Mirasty, a junior from Arizona Christian University, to the hill to start the game. The Edmonton native pitched 6.2 innings before Manager Mitch MacDonald handed the ball to reliever Skyler Henson, who picked up the win. Sam Brunner pitched the ninth inning for his seventh save of the season.

Weyburn reliever Carson Perkins, took the loss giving up four hits and three runs in his short stint in the game.

Outfielder Justin Erlandson showed the 771 Red Sox fans in attendance his speed by stealing two bases, giving him a team best 11 on the year.

Aden Campbell held a hot bat for the Red Sox going two for three with a RBI and a hit by pitch. Jake Howard smacked his fifth homer of the season, a two run shot in the bottom of the seventh to put Regina ahead for 6-3.

Regina will look to extend their five game winning streak Wednesday night when they host the Yorkton Cardinals.
