CARDINALS 19 RED SOX 13

It was a wild night at Currie Field as the Yorkton Cardinals out scored the Regina Red Sox 19-13 Wednesday night.

The 352 fans who braved the rain showers were entertained with a WMBL hitting clinic. Yorkton had 21 hits while the Red Sox countered with 13.  Yorkton expanded their batting stats by sending 15 players to the plate and scoring 10 runs in the sixth inning.

Both teams went deep into their bullpens using six pitchers each. Cardinal reliever Trevor Wallace earned the win and improved his record to 3-1. Regina’s Seth Sorenson was tagged with the loss.

One of the bright spots in the Red Sox lineup was Justin Erlandson who had three hits, two runs, three RBI and two stolen bases.

With the loss, Regina dropped to 17-10 while Yorkton climbed back to the .500 mark improving their record to 14-14.

Regina now gets ready for a home and home series with Melville. The Red Sox travel to Pirie Field Thursday night with the Millionaires coming back to Currie Field on Friday.  Regina will also play host to Brooks on Saturday and Sunday.
