Over 500 Currie Field faithful watched as the Western Division Brooks Bombers defeated the Regina Red Sox 7-4 Saturday night.

Brooks second baseman Alan Campero provided the offensive highlights for the Bombers.  Campero had three hits and scored two runs while catcher Evan Douglas doubled in the sixth inning and then smacked a two run homer in the seventh inning for Brooks.

Starter Nick Stobbe earned a no decision but baffled Red Sox hitters, striking out eight batters. Stobbe allowed one earned run, two hits and one walk over five innings. Jordan Hackett came on in relief and was credited with the Bomber win.

The Red Sox countered with starter Allan Sanchez.  He pitched into the sixth inning allowing three walks and five runs. Sanchez, who was charged with his fifth loss of the season, struck out five Bombers but was tagged for five runs.

Jordan Schulz was one of the few lone bright spots at the plate for the Red Sox. He was two for four with a run and a RBI.

Regina will be looking for revenge against the Bombers on Sunday afternoon. Game time is set for 2:05 pm at Currie Field.
