Red Sox 3 – Miller Express 1

The Regina Red Sox defeated Moose Jaw 3-1 in the first game of a double header at Currie Field Tuesday night. The win was the sixth of the season for the Red Sox.  The loss dropped Moose Jaw’s record to a dismal 3-9.

Red Sox outfield Justin Erlandson ignited the crowd when he stole home to score Regina’s first run of the game. Erlandson finished the game going 2 for 3.

The versatile Aden Campbell also had a great night at the plate going 2 for 3 with two RBI.

Starter Andrew Mirasty was masterful on the mound for the Red Sox giving up just three hits and a run during his six innings of work. Sam Brunner picked up his 5th save of the season in his one inning of relief.

Kobe Portillo pitched five innings and took the loss for the Moose Jaw Miller Express.

The second game of the twin bill was suspended due to weather conditions.

The game will likely be continued on June 22 at Currie Field. The Moose Jaw Miller Express were leading 4-2 in the bottom of the 5th when play was halted.

What the hell are those ball players out there for with lightning like that? Like any other outdoor sport , get off the field. And I suppose they didn't think that lightning would strike aluminum bats.
