SUNDAY SPORTS

MEMORIAL CUP

Toronto Maple Leafs draft pick Mitch Marner has been named the CHL Player of the Year. The London Knights forward had 39 goals and 116 points in 57 regular-season games. He followed that up by winning the OHL playoff MVP with 44 points in 18 games, leading his Knights to the Memorial Cup. London plays Rouyn-Noranda in Sunday's final (2:30 pm, Sportsnet West).

NBA

Klay Thompson made a playoff-record 11 3-pointers and scored 41 points, and the defending champion Golden State Warriors forced a seventh game in the Western Conference finals with a 108-101 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night.

Stephen Curry bounced back from a slow start to finish with 29 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.

The Warriors, who set the league's regular-season record with 73 wins, will host Game 7 on Monday. The winner will play Cleveland in the NBA Finals.

Oklahoma City dominated Games 3 and 4 at home, but the Warriors made 21 of 44 3-pointers on Saturday, while Oklahoma City was 3 of 23.

Kevin Durant scored 29 points and Russell Westbrook added 28 for the Thunder. But Durant made just 10 of 31 shots and Westbrook was 10 of 27.

MLB

Russell Martin looks to have found his groove. He had three hits, including a game-tying double in the bottom of the ninth, and scored the winning run on a Devon Travis single as the Blue Jays topped the Boston Red Sox 10-9. David Ortiz hit a solo homer in the top of the ninth to give Boston a 9-8 lead before the Jays stormed back.

---

New York Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard was ejected for throwing a 99 mile-per-hour fastball behind Chase Utley of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Utley is playing at Citi Field this weekend for the first time since his late takeout slide in last year's playoffs that broke the right leg of then-Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada.

MLS

Bradley Wright-Phillips scored three goals to lead the New York Red Bulls to a 3-nil victory over visiting Toronto FC. Toronto superstar Sebastien Giovinco left the game in the 22nd minute with an adductor injury.

---

Octavio Rivero scored in the 53rd minute as the Vancouver Whitecaps battled back from an early deficit to tie the Houston Dynamo 1-1 in Major League Soccer play. Defender DaMarcus Beasley scored in the 20th minute for Houston. And in Montreal, Didier Drogba scored on a free kick in stoppage time to give the Impact a 3-2 victory over the L-A Galaxy.

It's a got damn shame Regina will not play host to professional soccer in that new stadium. Supposedly a publc facility for all to use but the riders seem to think they are the sole proprietors/ownership group with bottom line say on who uses this venue.

Rod - do you actually know who Mitch Marner is now

You did not know when the Leafs drafted him

I think you have me mistaken for someone else. I was watching the Draft when Toronto selected him.
