ESKIMOS 26 LIONS 23 (OT)

EDMONTON - Sean Whyte nailed a 30-yard field goal in double overtime as the Edmonton Eskimos extended their winning streak to six games with a 26-23 victory over the visiting B.C. Lions on Saturday.

Dexter McCoil picked off a pass in the second overtime session, allowing the Eskimos a clear chance to win it.

The Eskimos (12-4) maintained their first-place status in the West Division ahead of Calgary, which beat Toronto 27-15 earlier Saturday. Edmonton has won six games in a row for the first time since 2003.

The Lions (5-10) have lost five of their last six games.

Edmonton took an early 3-0 lead on its first possession as a 63-yard Kendial Lawrence punt return eventually led to a 40-yard Whyte field goal.

The Lions came back to take the lead as Esks quarterback Mike Reilly tossed a pass straight into the waiting arms of Ronnie Yell and he waltzed just 13 yards into the end zone to make it 7-3.
