MOSAIC PLACE RECAP: REDBLACKS 35 RIDERS 13

OTTAWA - Jeremiah Johnson took full advantage when opportunity came calling.

Johnson scored three rushing touchdowns as the Redblacks downed the Saskatchewan Roughriders 35-13 on Sunday, three days after Ottawa released international running back Chevon Walker, who he replaced in the starting lineup.

"I did what I was supposed to do. This is nothing different for me,'' said Johnson, who has now doubled his number of rushing touchdowns this season to six. "The organization gave me an opportunity and I'm ecstatic with my performance.

"Those guys up front did a tremendous job. They went out there and hit everybody in the mouth and I just made the necessary plays to make things happen.''

The Roughriders, who had their second lowest point total in a game this season, fell to 0-9. They scored just five points in a 35-5 loss to the Edmonton Eskimos on July 31.

After a tight first half that had Ottawa (5-4) in front 14-10, the game took a huge turn in favour of the Redblacks over a span of three minutes and 44 seconds from the end of the third quarter and into the fourth.

Ottawa scored 21 points in that span to take a 35-10 lead and control of the game.

It started with 3:09 to play in the third quarter when Johnson scored a one-yard touchdown run that once converted by Chris Milo, gave the Redblacks a 21-10 lead.

On the ensuing series, Ottawa recovered a Saskatchewan fumble and Johnson scampered in from 36 yards out on the next play for another score and a 28-10 lead.

Another Riders' fumble late in the third quarter was converted into points on a one-yard run from Ottawa quarterback Henry Burris 35 seconds into the fourth quarter.

Milo then converted his fifth touchdown of the day and the Redblacks were cruising with a 35-10 lead.

Paul McCallum kicked a 28-yard field goal with less than seven minutes to play, cutting the Saskatchewan deficit to 35-13.

The Redblacks defence recorded 10 sacks. They also forced two fumbles and intercepted one pass.

"It was a team effort on our defence and coach (Mark) Nelson called the game really well and the defence played very well,'' said Justin Capicciotti, who led the charge with three sacks and six tackles.

"That's the best time, when you're up and you know you get to pass rush because you know they have to throw the ball. You get to go after the quarterback.''

The Redblacks scored on their opening two drives to take a 14-0 lead while allowing the Riders to just five offensive plays over their first two series.

Ottawa covered 89 yards in five plays on the opening drive of the game that ended with a 37-yard touchdown pass from Burris to Maurice Price. The conversion by Milo gave the Redblacks a 7-0 lead.

After forcing the Roughriders into a two-and-out situation, Ottawa moved the ball 78 yards in just under three minutes and took a 14-0 lead on a seven-yard touchdown run from Johnson.

The rest of the half featured only punts for the Redblacks as the Roughriders possessed the only offensive punch before the break.

They got punt singles of 48 and 70 yards from Ray Early and a nine-yard touchdown pass from Brett Smith to Naaman Roosevelt. Smith then carries the ball in himself on the two-point conversion to complete the eight-point scoring drive.

"We talked about winning the penalty battle and we talked about winning the turnover battle. That was the tale of two teams right there,'' Roughriders coach Corey Chamblin explained.

"We came out in the second half and just played losing football in all three phases. (Ottawa) played good football, don't get me wrong, but we just didn't have it and we weren't together. We looked more like individuals than a team in the second half.''

The Redblacks head into their second and final bye week of the season while the Roughriders host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Sept. 6.

POSTGAME COMMENTS

CHAMBLIN

- They had two early scores against the D and offensively we didn't have much then.  Then we settled in and had a chance but the pick changed momentum just a little bit.  We have to play team football, not individual football.

- There was a thought to put (Brett Smith) back in but things transpired that made it a moot point so we stuck with Tino.  I'll leave it at that.  It started temporary but ended up being longer than that.

- There was some good things in all phases but as a team we lost.  Not enough guys rose to the occasion to win this game.

- Right now we've had injuries and changes but for the most part we're just not playing team football right now.  There is not one set answer.

- We've had a lot of change and sometimes it's hard to preach to new guys and rally around that.  It's not always positive in situations like that with new guys.  We're not playing with the crew that we started with but we still have to move forward.

- Every week I come into this whether we're 8-2 or 0-9, the decision is never mine.  I still come to work and do what I need to do.  The decision doesn't lie in my hands.

- Brett Smith is healthy for next week.  We'll sit down and discuss what to do next week.

CHICK

- I can't put a finger on it.  To me, it's from within.  It's inside a person and there is no answer.  All across the board today was undisciplined.  It was a tail of two cities for the last two games.  It wasn't the same squad out there today but I'd die for all these guys.  From meetings to scheme, we're doing the right things.  We've got the right mental attitude.

- The determination is there.  The pregame stuff is there. It's the on-the-field presence.  I can't say it's any one thing.  Last week we got down to five penalties and this week, I don't know what it is, we had far too many and took points off the field.  We'd make big plays on defense and then there's a flag.  You can't blame that on the coach.  That's execution.

- It's always my approach but even moreso now; we have half a season left.  When you're 0-9, I know what goes on in everyone's mind from the top down.  I have to find everything I can do to be more professional and help the team win.

DRESSLER

- A lot went wrong.  You watched the game.  We didn't much good in any phase of the game.  I wish I knew what to tell you.  It's one of those things wherever we wanted to do, it didn't work.  Playcalls or execution.

- There's some penalties we need to clean up.  We did a good job of focusing on that last week but we took a step backwards on that today.  They put us in tough positions.

- We had a couple guys go down on the O-line and when you're shifting those guys around, they're just trying to help the team.  It's makes it tough on a quarterback for sure.

- Any time you lose nine games in a row it's hard to keep the belief you have what it takes to win games.  We try to keep it in the locker room and you hear what's going on outside but guys are staying positive and believe we have the players to win games.

I see our gutless defence showed up to play.

Listening to game at work, sounds like the team has given up already, or have they finally quit on CC!

Anonymous said...

Chamblin's defensive schemes and play selection being obliterated again.

Anonymous said...

Our defence couldn't stop a high school team....they are brutal.

Anonymous said...

Chamblin is a joke! Leave Smith in at QB. F'in brutal!!

Anonymous said...

Remind me why we dropped Milo again. Missed FG at important times, hitting uprights, blah blah blah. McCallum is the same as Milo in a green uniform.

Anonymous said...

Its hard to tell which is worse, Defensive play or offensive line

Anonymous said...

Chamblin's coaching is a joke. Our defense can't even start -not prepared at all. Then he pulls young Smith and puts in Tinsordi- What a gas! We are lacking coaching leadership- he needs to be let go asap.

Anonymous said...

My god!!How does this loser of a coach still have a job fire him now!!!

Anonymous said...

I posted this a couple weeks ago on Rod's MMG, and I think its relevant yet again for all of those who agree with the leadership of this franchise thinking CC is the answer:

2012 - 8 Wins, 10 Losses = 0.444%
2013 - 11 Wins, 8 Losses = 0.611%
2014 - 10 Wins, 8 Losses = 0.555%
2015 - 0 Wins, 8 Losses = 0.000%
Total - 29 Wins 34 Losses = 0.402%

Corey is not all that he's cracked up to be and that record speaks for itself and is truly showing through today. Even the TSN guys are running out of excuses for this guy, HE HAS TO GO!

I for one would love Reynolds to pull a USC Trojans move as they did to Lane Kiffin and fire Chamblin ass soon as that plane touches down in YQR. The player's of this team have quit on this guy and his massive ego! But, what do I know as a long time season ticket holder who sat through the years full of mediocrity and us told to be content with 9-9 seasons. I'm supposed to put up my money and shut up because its a privilege to be a rider fan apparently.

Stew

So, all the Chamblin supporters still in agreement with leaving this guy in charge? What many of us have been saying since this club went 0-4 and told the fans how great he was and how he will be a HC somewhere else.....FIRE HIM today!

Pat Strain said...

Sunseri is a deer in the headlights and Chamblin is an idiot. It is increasingly clear that the Riders decision to keep Chamblin must be based on financial considerations ( ie we can't afford to fire him and pay his contract ) and not football. We are getting ripped off and our loyalty is being taken advantage of.

Anonymous said...

Cant wait for the call in show post-game

Anonymous said...

Chamblin coaching try to save his job ??? Why did he pull Smith? Kid made some mistakes, but you don't destroy his confidence by pulling him. You develop young QB's with coaching and patience . Chamblin is done; just playing out the string. Taman won't be far behind him.
Chamblin has become an embarrassment to his profession ....

Anonymous said...

TSN, please turn this game off and replace it with a good game of Botchee Ball. Horrid football.

Anonymous said...

Time to start employing new offensive line members. Our "STRENGTH" on offensive line is a complete joke! They should be buying lunch for the QB and running backs after every game

Anonymous said...

Chapdelaine was coaching at the CIS level for a reason. Should have left him there.

Anonymous said...

I ask anyone on here to please tell me why Chamblin should remain for the rest of this season? Give Jacques Chapdelaine the reigns on a temporary basis then the board can re-evaluate the entire leadership team and either hire a new GM or allow Taman to follow through with a proper hiring process.

On that note if Taman isn't kept I hope the board conducts a properer search for a GM and doesn't just simply hand the reigns to O'day.

Hey Corey. ----- How is Tino making out???

Anonymous said...

So when is Chamblin going to start pulling his boys on his defence who are underperforming?

Nothing more than Danny Barrett 2.0 who was handed talent when he walked in the door.

Anonymous said...

HEAT ! HEAT ! HEAT ! REDBLACKS turn on the HEAT !

Anonymous said...

third string now?

Anonymous said...

This one ALL on Chamblin. His defensive play calling and pulling Smith for SUNSERI?? Really? Sunseri has no future with this team, Smith does. Every snap Smith doesn't take hurts his development. How can the Riders not see this? It's ridiculous. Chamblin can't see the trees through the forest. This has to be his last game as head coach.

Anonymous said...

Pretty obvious now - this Team has given up on their coach !!! Redblacks rubbing Rider faces in the dirt.
Maybe Gary Lawless will be right after all ??..

Anonymous said...

Brett Smith should have stayed in! The TSN panel questioned that call and I am questioning the call.

To hell with firing Chamblin - fire everyone on the board who said that Chamblin can stay for the year! Obviously, they have no idea what they are doing. By the time Reynolds and the Riders board wakes up, there will be no one sitting in the stands, buying merchandise, etc.

DO SOMETHING ALREADY!!!!

Anonymous said...

Stew has it right. It's time to clean house. This whole organization is a farce. Apparently losing is tolerated.

Note to Taman, Check out players from Saskatoon Valkyries and Regina Riot. Couldn't play much worse. I used to think Taman and Chamblin were doing a reasonable job but we are not finding new players we are using other team rejects, undersized receivers and too much more to mention and our coaching decisions are totally unaccepable. They both need to be fired. Immediatly. Benevedies, where are you? If our new president and board doesn't have the balls, they need to go also

Anonymous said...

After watching all the games this weekend, believe the League has changed their pay structure and Officials now getting paid by the number of flags thrown. I have never seen so many marginal/phantom calls ..... It is having a detrimental affect on the game.

Anonymous said...

Posted earlier about listening to game at work, I am so glad I dont have to watch this on tv. Actually thought they would be competitive and maybe even win after almost beating Stamps.

Anonymous said...

Benavides IS NOT the answer !!! He was let go in BC -'that should be enuf to say he is not a HC .
Chapdelaine not a HC either !

Anonymous said...

It's 28 - 10 for the REDBLACKS and they are marching for another 7 points, Chamblin still smug smiling on the sidelines because he knows he's still garanteed his job as the Saskatchewan Roughriders head coach for under GM Brendan Taman's watch. Roughrifers now 0 - 9, huh ????? Fire Taman and his head coach Chamblin ! Oh oh ! Score now 35 - 10 REDBLACKS, its a BLOWOUT in Ottawa.

right up until the start of this game, i felt firing chamblain would be a mistake. i no longer believe that. its over for him

Why is Tino still in the game ???? Riders down by 25 with 12:37 to go in game. Doesn't it make sense to give one of our other QB's some valuable game experience ?

Anonymous said...

I hope Reynolds has hired a consulting company to create a list for their next GM search.

Taman and Chamblin need to go.

Other good teams have not fallen so fast, and that falls squarely on the shoulders of a GM who can’t find talent and follows the AL Ford 1980’s model of signing other teams cuts because they are better than what he can find. Taman still likes to remind people he found the guy who has sat on the TSN panel for the past 5 years (Milt Stegall) though

Anonymous said...

Wow! Now this is a dumpster fire!

Anonymous said...

Our Great Riders broadcasters haven't got the Guts to blame Chamblin for this mess instead they are starting to knock the Refereeing. You know damn well that Chamblin pulled Smith because of the interception mistake, but what about Bagg , when Receiver Smith scored a Touchdown and it was called back because of Bagg's Stupidity and much more.
Since Smith was pulled this whole Team has turned on Chamblin and if they don't let him go after this game there might be some Tar and Feathering in the so called Queen City.

Anonymous said...

No answer for this stupidity, the coach, GM and co-ordinators need to be fired for basically not having a clue. Pulling the guy who's busting his ass for the team is simply a power trip by the head coach and nothing more. As much as people don't like Tino, the "o" line is brutal. Maybe the supposed Offensive Co-ordinator should get him some more protection? But Chapedelaine does have nice hair though. Secondly, based on the marginal calls by the refs I will not spend another dollar on the CFL. Tickets, merchandise excetera. They have turned the league into a place where a light touch is a penalty. Give me the NFL where actual athletes and men play.

Anonymous said...

Carm still optimistic about the Rider season? What song he singing this week?

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have now turned to comedy, was that TINO running into and getting tackled by Richards?

This is brutal, I cant say I want Chamblin fired because then we have to pay out his 4 years which will cost us what? over a million $$ but since he is so OK with having a defensive co-ordinator that has no say, maybe we should have someone calling the Head Coaches calls and if he wants to quit LET HIM

Ottawa 67 delivers headshot (helmet to helmet) to Rider #3. He gets 15 yard penalty - how is that not a rough play - 25 yard penalty and a DQ ???? At the very least he should be fined by Leqgue office.

Is the sk radio broadcaster quiting out of disgust with the team yet?

Anonymous said...

How can you tell our GM is horrible?

Ottawa has guys playing their 1st or second CFL game ever, who are standing head and shoulders above anyone on the Riders side.

Anonymous said...

I do not agree with the decision to pull Smith and put in Tino. If Durant had been playing under Chamblin when he was developing as a quarterback and he was pulled every time he threw an interception he would not have had the opportunity to develop into the quarterback he has become. In 2009 he threw 21- ITs, 2010 - 22 ITs, 2011- 14 ITs, 2012 + 13 - 12 ITs each year. Smith is young and shows potential and he needs to be able to make mistakes and develop. Please continue to play him and bring in a true quaterback coach and groom him into a good quaterback.

This game was a total disaster after our elite Coach Chamberlin pulled Smith to put in Tinsordi. What kind of coach do we have? Now I hope are brass now realize that last year and this year when we went from 8 and 2 , to O wins, that the responsibility lies at the foot of our Coach. He has to be FIRED like right NOW!

Chapdelaine, !st down on 1 yd line, 240lb running back ave 7 yds a carry and call a passing play ???????? What the hell is going on? 9 sacks? Where is the offensive line? Just demote Chamblin or do as a previous commenter said, keep him as head coach and tell him to stay in his office away from football operations

Chris said...

Grow some nuts Craig R, fire Chamblin or Taman or both tomorrow. Or else this franchaise and brand are screwed and doomed for a few years at least.

Anonymous said...

I saw clip on TSN where Chamblin said. "I've got seven rookies on offense," and then named them.

Any other coach in any other league in any other sport would say, 'We have seven rookies on offense.'

There is a big difference between I and we.

Chamblin is not a coach. PERIOD

Anonymous said...

1st and goal at the ONE yard line and our offensive coordinator calls a...wait for it...pass play. SACK. Messam who? Jeez. No wonder Ottawa had 10 sacks. Where is the threat of a run? Nowhere apparently. Just pin your ears back and get another QB sack. Why does the CFL just recycle old coaches who were fired by other teams? Get some new young blood in there already. Danny Barrett where are you?

This Rider season has become a total embarassment to both past and present Riders who proudly wore the Jersey. Both Taman and Chamblin are in way over their heads. Rider management has some very important decisions to make in the next 1-2 weeks.......the future depends on making the right decision !!

Anonymous said...

If Reynolds is doing his job, he will call a meeting with the Rider Board tonite and discuss the next step. The current plan is obviously not working, and the franchise has no future with Corey as HC ( and maybe Taman too) . Corey has worn out his welcome and both the players and fans are tired of listening to his excuses with his "everything is ok" attitude.
Taman extended Corey's contract last year so he is probably gone too !!,

Anonymous said...

I have been patient with Coach Chamblin for the first 8 games because of the effort by the players and the mounting injuries to key players, but the decision to pull Brett Smith for the game was unforgivable and fatal. He has to be fired, with all due respect to his work for the team in 2012 & 2013. There is no other option. They need to bring in an interim head coach as part of building for the future -- whether it be Paul Lapolice, or Mike "fist pump" Benevides or one of our assistants.

FIRE Taman !

How many times do I have to repeat this? since he was hired ! Taman has no business being a GM in professional football. He wouldn't know a football if it hit him in the face. Also ! Take his $#!!@&% personal choice as head coach with him. Why is the FN Saskatchewan Roughriders Board of Directors, plus the team President condoning this farce?

Anonymous said...

If I didn't know better I would say Corey is coaching to be fired. His demise is imminent. Just a question of "when" ???
And I don't like how he bullies the rookies on the sidelines. He would never do that to CHICK or LABATTE.
Riders may not win a game this year the way they are going.

Curtis said...

This verse is the same as the first. Too many penalties and a LOUSY defense. In addition, CC decision to put Tino in took ALL the momentum away from the Riders. As CC continues to make bad decisions the decision to keep him next year is become easier and easier.

Anonymous said...

Refs were decent. Except for the intentional grounding penalty that went to the QB on the sidelines.

Anonymous said...

Smith and the Riders score 31 points against the number one team. A week later Smith throws a beautiful touchdown in the second quarter, is down by 4, then one mistake and he's pulled?

That was just plain bad. Time to pull the coach.

Blair Ross said...

Wtf!!!! 10 sacks but let's keep sunseri in he can save this!!! Chamberlain I was supporting you for a whole. Your incompetence in calling defence, your arrogance of not allowing some one to take over as oc, your brutal decisions ( 65 yard field goal, not allowing messam to run, and keeping sunseri in) come on its 0-11 this year including preseason and 5-18 since August 31,2014) Yip it's time. Playoffs are lost, we can't even get points off of turnovers... Hmmmmmmmmm you think a change is needed? Wonder why Kent Austin smiles and laughs when he heard about the riders!!

GangGreen said...

Has Tino been cut yet? He got cut in preseason because it took him a month to make a decision. He showed it again today that he's mentally too slow and can't run the offense or get a play off before getting sacked.

I think he needs to get sacked one more time.

Anonymous said...

Tino should be cut again on Monday to open a roster space for Sims. Run with the young QB's for the rest of the year to at least give the fans something of interest to follow. 2016 will see Durant at #1, Smith at #2, and Price and Sims to battle this year and in training camp for #3.

Sorry fans, here's the updated version of CC's record:

2012 - 8 Wins, 10 Losses = 0.444%
2013 - 11 Wins, 8 Losses = 0.611%
2014 - 10 Wins, 8 Losses = 0.555%
2015 - 0 Wins, 9 Losses = 0.000%
Total - 29 Wins 35 Losses = 0.401%

Can Mr. Reynold's please hold a press conference tomorrow morning and tell us why anyone should show up for the Labour Day "Classic" and what will make this year's game just that? Sadly I'm sure young Mr. Smith has too much class for this, but he should out right ask for a release from the Riders after the way the coach completely sold out this young QB.

I am no sports expert, but I grew up a true Saskatchewan kid, watching the Riders. I still a fan 50 years later. We also have a son that has played several different sports, currently high school football, and my husband has coached him all the way through. From that experience, I still maintain there is something wrong in that locker room, and it is manifesting itsself on the field. The penalties and lack of discipline, indicate to me that Chamblin has lost control of this team, and likely the respect of his players. We were at Mosaic yesterday watching our son's high school team play, that was more enjoyable than watching that mess today!

It may be a wee bit harsh but I would like to see the Roughriders retain Chamblin and Taman until the end of the season. I don't care if they win a game this season. I want them to wear the stink of this season into their next job at Micky Dee's and for the rest of their natural lives. They should never again be allowed near a football team at any level. Btw I have been a fan for over fifty years and have seen a lot of bad Rider teams. Things may be getting fuzzy, but, I can't recall the arrogance and stupidity I am witnessing this season (maybe close but this season takes the cake). I also think that at seasons end the Board of Donkeys (wish I could take credit for that term) needs some new blood. The only people I feel any empathy for in this fiasco would be the players. Actually only some of the players; there are a few that should not be on this team and I am certain they won't be here next year. I can only hope that it won't be the end for the likes of Bagg, Chick, Dressler, Durant, Getzlaff and a few others. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to watch them play and I am sure that what they are experiencing is extremely painful.

Is it personal you DAM RIGHT!!!!!

Fire his ass out of here and start to rebuild for next season with a new head coach.

Lets rebuild for next season starting with him and new players as we go into game 10 for a rebuild. A lot of veterans should be in the question for the rebuild and I do not care who there names are.

There is nothing left that Chamblin can do to save the season or his coaching creditably.

It would seem as reasonable assumption that the Rider head coach made a decision to throw in the towel on the game and his job. And why not, because he can get paid a lot of money for the next two or three years to stay at home while raising his young children ... like Paul Lapolice.

Hate to pile on here, but his time is up (a universal opinion now) and it should be a fun week on the Sports Cage as the fall-out is dealt with. The call-in show after today's game with old Ballsey was one of the best ever and will go down as a classic night of rants par excellance.

You've got seriously question a organizational structure that has produced only 4 championships In its long storied history. It's not working from top to bottom. A waning on field product that struggles year after year for consistancy not conducive to a long term picture moving forward. Time for total franchise reavaluation of purpose to its mission statement and mandate.

Durant is done. Name a professional athlete who is out for 2 years and comes back. . .

The Rider Nation spoke loud and clear tonight.

They have had enough.

I knew the post-game show would be gold and it was and then some.

Mike McCullough was absolutely excellent.

Can't wait to read the MMG to get your thoughts on what we saw.

Good on Carm for asking Chamblin if he should still be coach!

The really sad thing here is that a move should have been made in the bye-week. This team was and continues to be a train wreck. The direction and blueprint for success appears completely missing. Having Durant back won't fix:
- poor decision making by HC
-failure to use Messam
-horrific defence
-poor D-line
-poor O-line
-ungodly bad discipline
-depletion of Canadian talent
-poor play by many vets
- a don't give a crap attitude by many players..too much quit

The handling of Smith by the HC was unforgivable. He was the one bright light we had and the HC has all but extinguished that. Smith look beaten and demoralized in his interview. When Sunseri fumbled and turned the ball over leading to 7 points, was he benched? Sunseri did nothing. He hasn't the escapability of Smith and still can't make plays. Nobody knows why he is even here. That you can put on the GM.

Firing the HC without sending the GM packing as well is only doing half of the required task at hand. Chamblin came with a thin resume but he was the GM's hand picked guy. He's here because the GM went to bat for him. If your going to let the HC go , the GM better be on the same bus. He is as much or more to blame for this mess.

The team is not responding to Chamblin's message whatever it is. The team is regressing and still unable to control its penalty situation among other things. To continue to allow this to head where its obviously heading will kill the should of this team and its supporters. The morale is at an all time low and apathy will soon set in. This team woefully needs a transfusion. Get a head start on next season because this one is a disgusting wash!

My opinion on Taman has not changed since last week. He did not pull Smith.

I also remember saying that the brass had decided to retain chamblin for the rest of the year. And that everyones performance would be evaluated at that time and changes would be made if deemed necessary.

The fact is that this season is lost. Some are calling for the evaluation period to be moved up and therefore one or both of Taman and Chamblin should be gone now. So lets look rationally at what the would solve. If you tank both of them who is going to come in for the remaining nine games?? No one. And even if they did the person can't salvage this season. So all that would happen is that O'Day would be acting GM for the rest of the year and one of the assistants would take over. But it would not change anything. We did that in the 70s and 80s several times. Besides why promote O'Day when he is part of the problem. No good coach is going to come in here knowing there is uncertainty on who the GM is going to be. And why settle for a coach that is currently unemployed..... They are unemployed for a reason. What until offseason and hold a proper competition and see who applies.

The first decision though needs to be on the GM since the GM has to be able to hire his guy. So I still say you have to keep Taman until the end of the year then settle on your GM and then hold the competition for the coach. We have to do this in the right order.

I admit to being a big supporter of Chamblin. I thought he did a good job for three years. But his decision to make himself DC so he could keep up with Chris Jones and the resulting #8 defence is something he needs to answer for - it is on him. And the removal of Smith for Tino (who I said two years ago didn't have "it") was inexcusable. There is no sense keeping him around any longer. Appease the fans by firing him and put an assistant in charge. Then evaluate Taman at year end, make your decision on a GM and then get a new coach. That way anyone applying knows the situation they are coming into. The 750k that it would cost to can chamblin is only about 15000 tickets which we will not sell the rest of the year anyway.

Don't feel bad for Corey though he will be back on another team in no time as an assistant.

I still say there are not alot og GM candidates around that would be better than Taman. Maybe the guy in Calgary would be an option but would he come here to this fan circus when Huf is 67 and will retire soon? Who else is there? And don't give me Tillman.....he left this team in shambles when he left (remember 2011?) and thankfully why would he want to come back? I still say to keep Taman. The talent is there it is bonehead decsions by this coach that has tanked most games this year including poor clock management penalties lack of discipline 65 yard field goals and pulling Smith.

Guess we will see what happens

CC should be fired. Riders are such a joke a
Of an organization and making the whole province look like a joke. Monteal has 4 losses brings in gm to coach we lose 18 and that's completely fine. Are you F ing serious. So much for wanting to have a team gain confidence when u pull a rookie qb on a interception in endzone and that was his o ky mistake b/c the line can't hold a fly coming through . Such a horrible coaching call. And confidence was lost at that call. I HOPE YOU LOOK AT THIS BLOG CHAMBERLAIN IF U DO AND UR STILL BEHIND THE BENCH I'M GOING TO BE YELLING AT U ALL GAME!

The Roundtable was fantastic last night. Mike and Ballsy were on fire and most of the callers submitted educated comments in a passionate manner. I don't need to watch the games anymore, especially if Rod Black and Duane Ford are calling it. I'm just going to listen to the round table from here on in. Way more entertainment value there
