• I've learned that Alouettes guard Scott Flory has replaced former Ticat Mike Morreale as the president of the CFL Player's Association. The vote of CFLPA reps took place last night in Las Vegas where the players' association is holding their annual meeting.
The big question – and one I'm not in position to answer just yet - is what impact this will have on negotiations between CFLPA and the CFL on a new collective bargaining agreement. The current CBA expires just before training camp and talk thus far have gone nowhere. Players are looking for higher salaries, given that the league has a new, more lucrative TV deal with TSN, as well as several new stadiums either built or on the way. The league says they aren't as flush as the players seem to think.
