RIDERS MOURN THE PASSING OF DAN MARCE

The Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club would like to extend its deepest sympathies to the family of former Rider Board Member Dan Marce.

"Our heartfelt condolences go out to the friends and family of Dan," stated Riders President/CEO Jim Hopson. "Dan was a fixture on the sporting scene in Regina, volunteering countless hours to the Roughriders and other community events. More importantly, Dan was a great husband, father and friend."

Marce was a passionate supporter and long-time season ticket holder of the Riders. He started volunteering in 1981 before working as the Club's Director of Marketing on two separate occasions: 1982-1985 and again in 1992-1993. Marce had served on the Roughrider Board of Directors from 1993-1999.

In addition, Marce was extensively involved in the Plaza of Honor Dinner serving as Chairman of the Selection Committee from 1992-2006 and was the Executive Producer of the induction ceremonies for over 17 years.

The 66-year-old Marce had retired from PrintWest last year, but was still doing some part-time work for the company. He had been involved in the publication of a number of books about Regina's sports community including the Riders 100th anniversary book.

My Deepest Sympathy to the Marce family. I have fond memories of Dan when I was the Rider Rep in rural Sask during his tenure in marketing with the Riders. Polkabill from Regina

I cant believe it. Dan had just started his retirement. To be down South and be struck down by a passing Motor vehicle just isnt right! My condolences and heart felt sympathy goes out to all of Dan's family and friends. This is just incredibly sad.

During my years of involvement with the Roughrider organization, I spent many hours and traveled many miles with Dan. I got to know him as a good person, dedicated to his family and his many friends. I soon got caught up in is love and passion for the riders. I am sure all of us who knew and worked with Dan are feeling a significant loss today.
To Jan and the family; You are in our thoughts and prayers

This was such sad news. Another innocent person taken from his family and friends by someone who thought drinking and driving would be a great idea.

Dan was a very nice person who will be greatly missed. Condolences to his family.
