It was a sad effort last night with the exception of about five or six players. It is a team game and five or six players are not enough.

The girl in this pic is probably in her early 20's and married now RP.
It's only mathematical now ... Coach of the Year?
What a pathetic performance!!! One bad hockey team.
No Heart, no skill, no creativity on PP and outcoached. Two thirds of the fourth line had 0 minutes of ice time. At times this season when the fourth line has been providing the spark. Skilled offensive players sitting in the stands!!!
My desire to renew is dwindling.
What's the Pats Magic Elimination number now Parker Family ?
Very poor effort by a team in the the position they're in. no urgency! Much of our top line is playing soft. There was a lot of quit there last night. Top players not being top players losing battles and playing undisciplined. To be playing this way at this stage tells me the coach either isn't or can't get through to some players. Maybe we've asked him to make chicken salad out of chicken s__t. There are two or perhaps three untouchables on this team and no more. Outside of Fenske even the 20 yr old pool for next year isn't great.
Landon Peel either wouldn't or couldn't play here. He looked pretty good for the Ice..HHHMMM
This team needs a shake up up to get them out of their funk. I don't think rosters have been set, so maybe find a body or two somewhere, perhaps there is something out there.
I believe we have an excellent coach. We just don't have the talent or work ethic. Some guys here don't want to play the coaches system. They have to go. Getting one point out of fourteen is why this team won't have any post season this year.
Thank God for Matt Hewitt...the only player that showed any work ethic last night...it would have been double digets if not for him...Sad performance...why not play the 16 yr olds and bench 19 and 20`s may as well see if they can play for next year
the players r flat out sick and tired of playing this boring chip n chase hockey...it doesnt win hockey games, it doesnt create scoring chances, all it does is make ur players work harder then they have too which is designed for ur 3rd & 4th line guys to build some momentuem...its not or ur top 2 lines to play that is where ur skill is (& yes we do have enough skill) to create plays & make passing plays on the rush.
& to the guy who thinks Fenske is going to be our best 20yr old next year really needs to give his head a hard smash up against the wall, the guy is terrible if he wasnt physical he wouldnt even be here. He cant handle the puck & as soon as he is pressured he just ices the puck, he should stick to what he knows & thats playing tough & fighting, has he even been in a fight this year?
Look at the bright side the Pats will get another top 5 picks that they can let play this boring chip n chase hockey & let him show next to no potential.... i feel sorry for Klimchuk, the guy has alot of skill but he is forced to play this crappy style of hockey, same goes for Stephenson.
scott
Agree the last comments. Who are the Leaders of this team?
can we cancel the Chad Lang for King of Regina parade?
Actually most teams in the league play chip and chase hockey. If you don't believe check in with Sutter in Red Deer. His team plays that way and they are doing pretty well don't ya think? It boils down to work ethic when your in battles along the boards. Then it becomes an issue of being able to make and receive a pass along with some offensive sense. Few of our players have any. The other issue about chip and chase (which most NHL use) is that you have to have big enough and tenacious forwards to win those battles. We don't that's for sure.
Scott?? you know nothing about hockey by suggesting Fenske isn't our best d-man. He is our ONLY d-man who is a plus player +5 on a team that is very poor defensively. Even our captain and vaunted rookies are minus d-men. That's horrible. Klimchuk is a gem. Our other top two forwards play soft and lose most battles. They are also heavy minus players. So do we have sufficient talent..NO. We come nowhere close to stacking up to the elite teams when it comes to personnel.
Last year Conacher played the same system and everyone was gushing about him. He won Eastern Division coach of the year. Got the Pats back into the playoffs. Sheesh! This year some of the know-nothings are bitching about his system??? Seriously...give your head a shake. Last year the coach had better forwards and a much better d-corps to work with. He wasn't given much to work with. That's not on him. Sheesh!
ur looking far to much into the +/- rating... fenske cant make a play with the puck, his only presence is physical which is great to see if he wasnt physical he wouldnt have a job though as he turns it over more then most of our Dmen just he works hard to get it back.
we had a great defense last year & 1 offensive player, depth wise we are a better team this year just lack that 1 true offensive guy...without Weal last year its the same team we have now, he was a 1man show thats how Conacher won his coach of the year....i never praised Conacher at all last year as he had a vetern heavy lineup , a good coach gets the most out of his players a guy like Sutter has a much younger team then we have & they are 1 of the best teams in the Eastern Conference & incase u havent watched much of his hockey his team does create plays on his top lines, if u watched McCoy when he 1st came here he wanted to create a play when he got the puck but now he is forced chip it in & chase it every single time & he doesnt look as effective anymore.
I htink u need to give ur head a shake, a coach is suppose to get the best out of his players & Conacher hasnt gotten that this year at all.... during our 5 game win streak after xmas we were actually making plays & werent chipping it in every single rush like we are now.
Did u watch how many times the ICE dumped it in on a rush? hardly at all they carried it over the line, they dumped it in when they needed a line change. I also lost count how many times i was able to hear there coach yelling where to cover on the ice to break up a play, hes coaching at all times our coach just stands there with his arms crossed.
Also where was out coach to shake hands at the end of the series last year against MJ? oh ya thats right he was crying in the dressing room as he stormed off cuz things didnt go his way.
I think the owner of the team is the problem. Have not had a winner and no have made it past the 1st round of the playoffs under the Parkers ownership. I too is getting frustrated with watching this team. if it was not for the cheap tickets i could find something else to do.
To this day that refusal of Pat to shake Stother's hand at the end of the MJ series bugs me.
Go Blades Go!
Blades???? " GO PATS GO "
