#10 - Canada versus Russia in the 2012 WJHC semifinal at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary. Here's the view from my seat in the play-by-play booth on the Sportsnet Radio Network.

#9 - Rider coach Corey Chamblin lights up his defence during the first quarter of the Riders' Week 9 loss to the Calgary Stampeders. It's the first time where I've ever been able to read someone's lips in A PHOTO!
(Photo cred: Jeff Armstead)

#8 - How quickly the Rider Nation forgets!! Andy Fantuz jerseys slashed by 50% at Jersey City after the once-popular Rider receiver signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats

#7 - Who says Henry Burris doesn't have CFL referees in his pocket?? A reader sent in this TSN screenshot...

#6 - My best buds Nathan "Machine Gun" Morrison and Jeff Armstead are captured on TSN barely a minute into the 2012 Banjo Bowl in Winnipeg. Here they are celebrating a Rider fumble recovery on the second play of the game.

#5 - Rider lineman Brendon Labatte displays a dubious honour as CTV's Lee Jones giggles in the background...

#4 - I've seen a few blog readers using this as a desktop wallpaper. It came from Rider national anthem singer Jeff Sawatzky. Great shot...

#3 - Rap star Snoop Dogg shows off his Rider Pride at a concert in Saskatoon and dons the jersey of the Riders' MVP. When asked his thoughts on it, Weston Dressler said "It's pretty neat".

#2 - A 21-year old man from Saskatoon braved the elements at an October Rider game to "streak". He faced charges of assault and mischief.

#1 - And this was my favourite sports day of 2012: Jarret Stoll's Stanley Cup parade in Yorkton where we broadcast the Sports Cage live and participated in the parade thanks to wheels from Mercedes of Regina. What a great year!! Vote for your favourite photo in the Titan Auto Poll at the top left side of the page!

Merry Christmas Rod

Rod it was a pretty good year for sports, however I have no doubt that 2013 is going to be an even better sports year around here. First thing to kick it all off will be the Memorial Cup in Saskatoon. Hopefully the Blades can finally raise a championship banner to the rafters. Mr. Brodsky certainly deserves it. Also, the Jays are set to dominate this year and reward their long-suffering fans. I would love to see the return of the baseball post-season to Canada for the first time in twenty years. And finally, the big game coming up in November. Boy I hope the Riders pull it together and win that damn cup (speaking of championship starved fans). It would be the greatest Rider win of all time. Think about it Rod, you hoisting that mug at the Press Box with all your friends around, beers flowing and George Strait on the stereo. Doesn't get much better than that I'd say!

Merry Christmas.
