Regina, Saskatchewan – The Regina Pats Hockey Club has completed a trade with the Red Deer Rebels, acquiring forwards Marc McCoy ('94), Filip Vasko ('93) and a conditional draft pick in 2015 in return for the rights to forward Dominik Volek.
McCoy brings 92 games of WHL experience to the Pats lineup and adds size to the forward ranks standing 6'2" and tipping the scales at 192 lbs.  This season, the Edmonton, Alberta product has six points (1G, 5A) in 28 games played.
In 23 games this season, Vasko features eleven points (4G, 7A).  Hailing from Humenne, Slovakia, the 5'11", 175 lbs. forward played in 51 games last season as a rookie, totaling 12 points.

Common knowledge, Volek did NOT enjoy his time in Regina last season. He would not play here. Thus, we have nothing to lose here. Yes they are castoffs, but other team's castoffs appear to be much better than our 4th liners, so why not? Nothing to lose.

McCoy will be in the lineup, not Vasko

Good trade - we gave up virtually nothing because Volek wouldn't play here and in return we got got two players and a draft pick.

Like this trade even if it works out or not, traded Volek who didn't want to be here for a couple players who haven't done lots but have to find a way to shake it up and its a start

Oh yes good trade. Everyone knows Brent Sutter always gets the short end of the trades he makes.

Adding two more forwards is OK but we just sent two down due to numbers. Considering we need d-men this can only mean that there is another trade in the works. I am betting something happens PDQ, at least I'm hoping. It would be nice to see a few more bigger bodies arrive.

Volek didnt play here this year due to he wanted to be closer to home & since he wasnt drafted into the NHL he had no reason to stay in the WHL....dont worry he wont report to RD either

as for the 2 we are getting getting a euro with some skill, hopefully he can find the back of the net abit more then Sylvegard has this season, also for the record that is no shot at Sylvegard at all he has been a solid player for us all year long he takes the body & has great playmaking abilities. McCoy bring us some much needed size upfront to go along with our other 2 bigs in Rodewald & Sylvegard who are also 6'2.

As for the comments towards Brent Sutter yes he has been dismantling his roster this year but we havent lost no trade with him yet this year with getting Mayor (oh ya & Hak) Mayor alone for 2 years is worth the mid to late round picks we gave to RD in 2015...so please tell me how we lost that trade? getting 2 players 1 who will be here as a 20yr old next year for a 4th rd pick in 2015 & a conditional 6th rd pick in 2015??

Sorry to burst your bubble but there is no way that Mayor will make this team next year as a 20 year old unless they trade some of their better 19 year olds before then ,remember you can only have 3.
