Morgan Klimchuk's even-strength goal with 32 seconds remaining in regulation was the game-winner as the Regina Pats knocked off the Hurricanes in Lethbridge 3-2 Tuesday night. With the victory the Pats (13-20-4) capped off their pre-Christmas schedule on a winning note and the victory gave them a 1-2 record on their Central Division swing.

After a scoreless first period at the Enmax Centre, Jaimen Yakubowski opened the scoring for Lethbridge (17-16-5) in the second period. However Regina got goals from Kyle Burroughs and Jack Rodewald before the middle period was over giving the visitors a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes.

The Canes' Craig Leverton tied the game at 2-2 in the final frame and it appeared headed to overtime however Klimchuk's last-minute heroics saved the day. It was the 17th goal of the season for the Calgary product.

NOTES: Regina outshot their opponents 27-26 ... Teagan Sacher got the win in the Pats' net while Ty Rimmer took the loss ... Regina was 1/1 on the powerplay and 3/3 killing penalties ... The attendance was 3073 ... The Pats are now off for the Christmas break and return to action Thursday, December 27 when they host the rival Moose Jaw Warriors at 7 pm on 620 CKRM.

Great win by the Pats last night. Let's hope for some healthy boys after the Christmas Break so they can get on a winning streak.

Perhaps even go on a longer winning streak than the London Knights have currently.

Merry Christmas Regina Pats Organization and a Successful Winning Season in the upcoming 2013Campaign.

Things are definately looking up in Patsland since we are now entering the xmas break, the Pats will get everyone back from the injury list except Jobke & Hunt....Stephenson may miss both MJ's games but come Jan 1 he will be back in service for the Pats.

Will be nice to finally see what this Pats team is capable of with a full lineup, with our depth chart currently (with & without injuries) there is no reason why this team cant make a pitch for 8th in the conference even 7th shouldnt be out of the question as i do feel we have a better all around team then the Broncos have.

I feel we are finely turning the corner.I predict not only will we beat Moose Jaw on the 27th but in the second half they will be in the basement and we will be in the playoffs.

Sacher appears to be the real deal. Buekaboom is on athe top oalies in the AJHL. Hope he is still Pats property. The highlites show one of our guys getting a beat down last night. Still think we need some more legitimate toughness on this team. Pretty sure there will be a lot of deals talked about over the break. If we want a sniff at the playoffs we still need some pieces. It will be interesting to see what we look like after Jan 10th.
