UFA, Russia - The International Ice Hockey Federation has suspended Canadian forward JC Lipon for one game at the world junior hockey championship.
Lipon, a Regina product, checked Slovak forward Tomas Mikus behind Slovakia's net in the first period of Canada's 6-3 win Friday.
The Kamloops Blazer was given a major and a game misconduct.
Mikus was not injured on the play. He scored a power-play goal on his next shift.
Canada will be minus two forwards for Sunday's game against the United States.
Boone Jenner will serve the third of a three-game suspension he was assessed on the even of the tournament.
