PATS 2 BLAZERS 1 (OT)

There were two heroes for the Regina Pats Wednesday night in Kamloops.  Lane Scheidl's second goal of the game, at 2:07 of overtime, lifted the Queen City Kids to a 2-1 victory over the Blazers before 4442 fans at the Interior Savings Centre.

Meanwhile Pats goalie Teagan Sacher turned in a first star performance making 40 saves in recording the victory.   The Blazers outshot the Pats 41-13 in the contest.

After a scoreless first, Tim Bozon put the Blazers out to a 1-0 lead with a powerplay goal in the second period.  Scheidl tied the game at 11:34 of the third period sending the game to overtime.

The Pats were 1/4 on the powerplay and 4/5 killing penalties.   The Pats have earned points in all four games so far on their west coast trip which concludes Friday night in Kelowna at 9:00 pm on 620 CKRM (Press Box Sports Bar Pregame Show at 8:35 pm).

One word decribes this team...Hewitt!

Great work guys. Alot of injuries but still plugging along.

Wow do we have some unreal goaltending this season. This sactcher seems like he is the real deal and Hewitt is one of the leagues best. A team has no business winning a game being out shot that bad. Pats get out shot almost every game. Keep plugging away boys pats are a playoff team again this year. Go pats.

The shot clock is still hideous but I won't complain about a win!! Especially against the top team in the league. It's been a great road trip and the young guys on the team are getting some valuable experience.

This Pats team is still able to get it done with all the injuries to key players. And I don't think there is any doubt that Hewitt and Sacher. Are the best 1-2 punch in the league. Great trip boys! Finish strong in Kelowna and PA. Go Pats Go!

Good Job guys, keep it going. I've always felt this road trip sets the tone for the rest of the season.

Tegan has been playing amazing and Hewitt is Hewitt, enough said. Who needs defence with these two considering that we have been outshot 147-76 in the last 4 games!

Job well done on the road trip guys! 4 more points to come!

The one word last night was "Sacher"

Won because of the refs and you know it. The league does not want to Blazers to be the top dog and are doing everything they can to make sure it dont happen. We dominated all 3 periods and you guys had a lucky goalie.

hahhahahah, you had 5 powerplays and the Pats had 4. Ya it was the reffing. Get a life. You had a PP with 2 mins left in the game and couldn't score. Good try though!

That's total nonsense that the league does not want the Blazers to be a top hockey club, they deserve to be a good team with all their hard work to get to the top. Regina Pats have two excellent goaltenders and that's just the way It Is, probably the best In the Western Hockey League. You can't win every game every night. " GO PATS GO "

The Blazers had one more power play than the Pats. Yeah, real anti-Kamloops conspiracy happening there!

Man, it's frightening to think that someone out there really believes there is a conspiracy to keep Kamloops out of the top spot. I imagine this individual hasn't amounted to a hill of crap in his/her life and blames the rest of the world for all his/her failures.

Too good

Sacher Too good

a win is a win & Sacher picked up his 2nd win on this trip....the pats 2-0-0-2 with Hewitt suffering both SO losses....(dont take this as a knock on Hewitt cuz its not)

the pats could very well have the best goaltending tandem in the WHL having Sacher playing so well it gives the pats abit of leaway if Lang gets an offer for Hewitt closer to trade deadline, he can feel comfortable pulling a deal if needed as we can always recall Beukeboom as Sacher's backup.

6 of 8 pts after 4 games this trip has definately been a success

Kamloops dominated the entire game. Kind of the boys against the men however in the end the Pats goalie played absolutely amazing. You have to give it to the kid.

Kamloops may have dominated but they ran into a hot goalie......it happens!! Laughed hard at the reffing excuse!! Nice try!

Outstanding Road Trip Pats. I can't think of one so good in many many years !

I agree Sacher played great but he had help upfront as well as the guys blocked a lot of shots and Blazers had to shoot from far range a number of times...they played great back checking game which was nice to see. Lane certainly hot as of late so hope he keeps it up and gets some help soon. Conacher interview after the game sounded like he was really excited how the boys played..and stuck to the game plan. Never heard him like that before, but that is great. Can't wait to tune in tomorrow night.
