They better hope Elliott comes back healthy! One more hit on Buck's noggan and he could be licking the icing off of donuts for the rest of his life....
I think Buck was licking the icing off after the hit in the Banjo Bowl. When Bucks your starting QB you definately need a reliable backup behind him.
And if anything happens to Durant then the Riders have to turn to Cole Berquist. What a joke that would be. The Riders have the worst depth at QB of any team in the CFL and that will never improve with Brendan Taman as GM.
Id rather have a QB built like Durant who can take a hit. Better yet knows how to get away from taking a hit. Than having Buck and Elliot together!
Besidea Anon, you have no idea who the back up QB in SK is going to be this year! For all anybody knows it may be ex BC Lion J.J.
3rd & 1 is correct....Durant didn't miss any games last year....wasn't hurt at all.
Who knew guys like Elliott, Brink, Lulay, etc a couple of years ago? Who knew that Darian Durant could play until he got in there? I always thought Calgary had no back-up either but who knew Tate could play? The winnipeg guys got some chances to play and have shown some promise and Lulay is the MOP. Is Cole the next one? I guess we need to find out. There are other young guys out of college that have talent and Brendan will bring some in...someone will emerge as our back-up and maybe two years from now we will be raving about one of them....I would have been OK with Kerry Joseph given that he and Darian are such good friends and KJ could have been like another coach - but I am against bringing in some other old cast off like Jarious Jackson and would rather find and develop a young gunslinger.
