HURRICANES 6 PATS 4

A four goal second period propelled the Lethbridge Hurricanes to a 6-4 home victory over Regina Friday night, snapping the Pats' three game winning streak.

The game was 1-1 after one period and 5-3 Lethbridge after two. Regina's goals came from Dyson Stevenson (2), Matt Marantz and Martin Marincin. Leading scorer Jordan Weal chipped in with one assist. The game-winning goal came from the Canes' Jaimen Yakubowski at 19:54 on the second period.

Regina was 1/5 on the powerplay while Lethbridge was 4/7. Matt Hewitt got the loss in goal (20 saves) while Damien Ketlo got the win (24 saves).

The Pats (30-23-6) visit the Kootenay Ice Saturday night at 8:00 pm Sask time on 620 CKRM (Press Box Sports Bar Pregame Show at 7:35 pm).

Mean while in MJ, the Warriors beat the crap out of Med Hat! Physically and on the score board! It was like men playing with boys! 5 for 8 on the PP!
Wow! Now thats a team! And a great rink!

Raiders Fan

Lost again to that pathetic Lethbridge team !

Much like Coach Dixon put it after the game, there was no hunger or preperation. Our best players were not our best players. He stated there was a lack of leadership in the room. That has been evident many times this season. It would appear this squad still does not; and has not learned to respect it's opposition. There is no time left to put it off to as bad night or bad game. They handed out the playoff requisitions this week. There still isn't a certainty the Pats will be in the playoffs. Maybe some of the 19 and 20 year old players start playing like leaders. In particular for those who wear the letters and deemed to be the leaders. Everybody ahead of them won tonight and Red Deer below them also won. A three game winning streak means nothing now. They have now given up four points to lethbridge, a team they can clearly beat. That is if the leaders lead and everyone else brings it.

WTF i'm so sick and f***ing tired of losing to the basement teams this should not be happening. We can beat MJ, Stoon, Med Hat ect. but struggle with the crap teams PA, Canes ect the Pats have to wake the hell up.

OK Pats fans just to show you how pathetic your team really is I looked at some stats.Except for Jordon Weal who is in a leaague by himself if you had Cody Beach(who you all love to laugh at and make fun of),he with 45 points would be your top scorer. Now that is just toooo funny.

I too drove to MJ last night. Just like the Blades, the Tigers figured they'd start fighting with MJ in the 3rd period when the game was out of hand. Big mistake! The Warriors absolutely kicked their asses in every way shape and form. Old time hockey at the new barn. Loved it!

Let's stop the name calling. Yes the Warriors have a great team. Yes they are tough. Yes Moose Jaw is a great little town (hate to say it, but much nicer than Regina) Yes if/when the Pats lose out, I will support MJ 100%....

But until that time, "GO PATS GO"!!!

Cody Beach plays with Howden. He will rack up points just like Weal did with Ebs, like Etem does with Shinkaruk, like Rattie does with Ross and so on. Look at Stone and Ferland. If you have someone to play with, there going to get you points

I would love to have Cody Beach on our team. He's big and strong along the boards and tough as nails in the corners and in front of the net.Not a puck hog and fights for his teammates.Always yapping at the oppostion and completely drives them nuts.Last game I drove to he was on a line with Miller and Eberle so not sure about the Howden comment.A guy you completely hate when he plays you but I wouldn't mind him playing for us.Checked those stats and I guess he got those 45 points in only 47 games.

The Pats are a little inconsistent right now but one thing is for sure. Neither MJ or Edmonton want to play them in the first round. MJ will be gone in the first round for sure. Miller is quaking in his boots about having to play the Pats, and Warrior fans are equally afraid. After all they are known as chokers. Edmonton would be just as devistated to play the Pats since they haven't won a game against them this year. Let's see who is left standing after the first round.

Quote from Warriors coach Mike Stothers when asked after last night's game about all the 3rd period fights, "I don't know what they (Med Hat) were thinking. How many guys have to get beat up? They just kepy sending more guys out."

Warriors are one TOUGH team. Even their skilled guys can kick the shit out of people.

Memo to WHL teams: "Don't brawl with the MJW - They will KILL you"

MJ is afraid to play Regina, and the Warriors are chokers? Ok, let's review the facts:

-Pats have won one playoff round in the past 14 seasons. MJ has won 4 playoff rounds in the past 10 seasons, including a WHL Championship appearance in 06.

If you seriously think MJ is afraid to face us in the playoffs, you're kidding yourself. MJ is 3-0-2 against us this year, with a record of 37-15-5-1. They would kick our ass. As far as Edmonton goes, I would take my chances with them before MJ, but they are a far superior team too. We are NOT built for a playoff run. Too small. And one dimensional offensively. Lang needed a forward at the deadline, not a powerplay specialist on defense.

Anon have you even watched any of the games? 3 of the games have gone to ot this with us winning 2 of them. All of the games have been hard fought great hockey to watch. I'm not saying it would be a cake walk for the Pats, it also wouldn't be for the Warriors either. I would love to see them in a playoff series it would be a exciting must likely best series 6 or 7 games it would go. With the best team in the series winning, not the team with or withour the better record. I didn't know championships were won in Feb or because of how good you are in reg season. Hell if that's the case why don't we all get a early start on the offseason and give the Blazers the trophy.

This story was not even about moose jaw,but moose jaw fans have to make sure they get there little team and town in the spot light! What a joke, give it up moose jaw.

to the guy who said Moose jaw is nicer than Regina i hope he meant the people because if he meant the city i have alot of issues with that. Regina is a much more beautiful city than that wasteland.
