It's been revealed Sidney Crosby also suffered a neck injury in addition to his ongoing concussion. The Pittsburgh Penguins confirmed Crosby had the injury but is fully healed from it. The team disclosed the injury but did not detail any specifics, including when Crosby injured his neck or how it may have hampered his comeback. Crosby has played just eight games since suffering a pair of head shots a year ago.

It was a weekend to forget to the Regina Pats. One night after losing 3-2 at home to Swift Current on Friday, the Queen City Kids were demolished 8-1 in Saskatoon Saturday night.
Darren Dietz, Brett Stovin and Josh Nicholls led the Blades with two goals each while Andrey Makarov made 19 saves in their goal. Morgan Klimchuk scored the lone Pats goal while Matt Hewitt (18/24) and Adam Beukeboom (7/9) split time in the Regina net. 4897 were on hand at the Credit Union Centre for the match.
Regina (26-19-5-1) visits P.A. on Wednesday.

Hey Pat fans. Better put a hold on those memorial cup parade plans!!
A Warrior fan
Ps did you hear the Warriors won both games this weekend
Go Warriors
Should give Mark McMorris of Regina a shout out for his 2nd gold medal of the winter X Games!
Can't believe only 62000 have seen this video on youtube - it should be viral. All new Riders should have to watch this and the 1989 Grey Cup...it is about how we all need to keep the faith generation to generation!

Where's the discipline on the team? Unbelievable. This team is destined not to go far when they play like they did Sat evening. What a change from a week ago! Wow! Watch out for the Calgary Hitmen. They are on a serious roll and beating the teams they need to. They have come out of the bottom of the conference to now in the top four. Perhaps Pats organization needs to take a page out of their playbook.
I hope the Pats can come back with a vengeance and prove everyone wrong. It doesn't look good for this team for the rest of the season. I think we have found who the Regina Pats are as we predicted at the start of the season.
Feel bad for Jordan Weal not to be on a competing elite hockey team. Since when does your "marquis" player take 2 penalties in one game like he did in Saskatoon. Can you say " Frustration".
Mark M
Hope Pat Conacher and Coaching Staff made the team walk or run from Saskatoon to Davidson last night. After what I consider the poorest game played and shown to those who drove up to see the game from Regina last evening.
I would be ashamed to wear the team colors last night. I hope this is a eye opener. A team that plays like this won't be going to far. Furthermore, I feel like sending over my hotel bill, gas and meal expense to the Pats organization.
The effort I saw last evening is horrible. When I travel back from Saskatoon today I will be considering whether I really want to support this team any further.
Very disappointing Mr. Chad Long and the rest of the Pats organization.

RELAX! It happens. Detroit lost to the very brutal Habs 8-1 last week. Holland and Babcock still have jobs. The Pats will respond.
Did mr Lang play lastnite shake your head buddy. There's a reason u went to the game because the team is playing well. Not so good this weekend but better then EVERY one predicted they would this year. Warriors fan I don't remember anyone saying we were going to the cup just like I can't see the warriors making it out of our conference. The blades are still the team to beat but my pats are giving me a reason to cheer this year. Season ticket holder for 23 yrs
Bighat.
The NHL Skills Competition was the worst display of hockey entertainment I have ever seen. What an absolute waste of time! And i am sure the All Star Game will follow suit today. You were right, the NHL is broken and in a lot of different ways.
Roddy, you may be ignoring Graham Delaet, but don't ignore Mark McMorris. The kid is probly going to be an Olympic medallist. How a kid from the barren Saskatchewan prairies can do what he can on a snowboard is amazing.
YOU CANT EVEN COMPARE THE MONTREAL/DETROIT GAME TO THIS PATS GAME PATS ARE NOWHERE NEAR THE RED WINGS TEAM VERY BAD COMPARISON AND BTW IT WAS 7-2 NOT 8-1
To the guy who says relax! Man you just don't get it. As a long time fan and season ticket holder I have been disgusted with the Pats play over the last while. We have only won "4" games in our last 10. Just beating MJ seems to be our Stanley Cup.
Our play at home has been real poor lately and we're fading on the road. Something is seriously wrong. The coaching staff does not have these guys ready to go for 60 minutes. Some guys are not putting out. If that means playing with three lines then Conacher has to do something. Sitting vets or whatever it takes. Our goaltending has been putrid the last while. Hewitt is not playing well enough right now to take this team anywhere, and neither is Beukaboom. We have at least four veteran players who are not WHL calibre and I am surprised they weren't moved. If you can't score it's one thing but 8 goals against. Saskatoon has scored 15 goals against us in two games. What's with that? I thought we were a defensive team Conacher!
This team is trending in the wrong direction. A playoff spot is not a sure thing. If they don't figure it out soon they will be looking from the outside in, again***
it was 8-1 not 7-1 mr Anonymous
I recommend people check out the article in today's New York Times about New England Patriot's player Julian Edelman. An old school player (like Al Ford) who plays on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball (in the same game no less).
I was in Saskatoon for the game last night. If the Pats are going to play that way for the rest of the year they will not make the playoffs.
To all of the idiots that cheer against the Pats you must live sorry lives in your moms basements. I am proud to cheer for the Pats first and then any team that represents the WHL in the Memorial Cup. Get a life.
GO PATS.

Anyone else think that in three years, the same thing happening to Weal will happen to Klymchuk? They should have traded a second rounder for a good winger instead of overpaying for Marincin if they just wanted to make the playoffs this year and build for 2012-13. Honestly this weekend was so disheartening.
Taylor
High Impact was great on Friday RP you shud have been there. Mark Feb 22 on your calendars because midgets will be there.
The Pats are not that good, is anyone really surprised they are destined to finish 7-8th in the conference? They will make the playoffs and that will be all, they were never really contenders with the like of MJ, Stoon, Ice, M Hat. This is the reason why the Marcnin trade is a head scratcher.
T
Can we go back too the trade deadline???
The Pats have been playing bad as of late??? really??
We lose back to back games 3-2 in OT out played MH from the 2nd period on, we outplayed MJ & got the W in OT 3-2, we out played the Broncos on Friday nite but there goalie was the difference....
last nites effort in Stoon was a mess but entering the 3rd period down 3-1 going on a 5on3 PP for 90secs & failing to even enter the zone let alone setup killed any chance of the Pats coming back, that was a huge momenteum swing for the Blades & frustration started to set in from there for the Pats.
Our PP has been brutal all season long, we either score on the PP or we fail to even put any pressure & gain momenteum. In a way i cant wait til Weal moves on to pro hockey cuz this team will not be so predictable.
As soon as Dixon figures out our PP thats when the Pats will be a stronger team, we need to control the puck more & maybe actually SHOOT instead of looking for that pretty goal.
We still have a good team back to back set backs against the Blades have really hurt.
I really dont see what the Pats saw in Marincin tho, he makes the same BS mistakes game in & out, his defensive play is brutal & once he starts dangling he gets so zoned into that, that he forgets his teammates are now getting open as he goes around a few players. I want Blidstrand back at least he was dependable in his own end.
Scott
I'm not ready to write the Pats off after a bad weekend, but I'm starting to question the trade for Marincin. Allowing 8 goals doesn't spell one of the best defences in the league. I have confidence that Pat and his staff won't let them stay down for long. I didn't have that confidence the past couple seasons. They'll make the playoffs, I'm not saying they'll go far in them, but they will be there. A lot can happen in the last 21 games.
Go Pats!
LC
I really think the moves a the trade deadline hurt the Pats in that I think it sent the wrong message to what was a very good def group.......everyone liked and praised the D and the work all 8 guys did then they make a trade bring in two new D and basically say to the guys who have played so well that their best obviously isn't good enough in the Pats eyes.......they really needed to add offense not change up an already good D group.
