The Kamloops Blazers announced Saturday morning that they have acquired 20-year old RW Brandon Herrod from the Prince Albert Raiders in exchange for 17-year-old C Logan McVeigh and the Blazers' 2nd round draft pick in the 2012 Bantam Draft.
"We are elated to add Brandon to our lineup. He is an experienced leader – serving as captain of the Raiders - and was voted as their playoff MVP last season. He is a proven scorer in our league and is known as a solid, character player. He will be a welcome addition to our team, and with a career spanning 314 games in the WHL to date we expect to benefit greatly from his experience," said Blazers General Manager Craig Bonner.
Herrod, who hails from Meadow Lake, SK, has compiled 18 goals and 18 assists in 40 games so far this season. During his WHL career, he has tallied 106 goals and 135 assists for a total of 241 points. The Blazers expect to have Herrod in their lineup as they host the Prince George Cougars at Interior Savings Centre in Kamloops on New Years Day.
Bonner continued, "in order to acquire a valuable player we had to give up one in Logan, and the Blazers wish him every success with his career in the future."

I would love to see the Pats get Taylor Vause. Talking to Swift fans last night they are going to be sellers.
Matt Marantz, Art Bidlevskii for Taylor Vause and Graham Black.
Graham
I would go for that trade Graham. Add a pick though witch would still be a great trade.
I'm sure any team would go for that trade lol...except the Broncos. Why would a rebuilding team trade a solid 20 and a good young player for two over-agers that aren't even as good as Vause. I'm sure the Broncos GM would get hung at the town square if he made that deal. Heck the Raiders got a 2nd and McVeigh for Herrod, the Broncos should get bout that for Vause alone.
Vause would look good in a Pats jersey & a 20yr old would have to be going back but would take alot more then that what was suggested & to even think SC would trade Black is just silliness altho a nice dream the kid can play & can definately skate.

The Pats are not buyers. They may not be sellers either. If you want to know what Chad Lang is able to do, have a look 30 miles down the road at the warriors. Who do you think put that infrastructure in place? Lang will do whatever is best for this franchise and will not do anything silly. The Pats are already within 5-6 wins of what people would have considered to be a miraculous season with this talent. 26-30 wins this year keeps Lang's respect with ownnership, and gives him a chance for a great team next year. I would move Weal for sure, because he won't be back next year. It may cost them the playoffs, but longterm viability should be number one priority. They need a goalie and a young dman and a 2nd - 3rd rounder. If they can get a 93 goalie, a 94 dman and a 2nd or third, they need to make that deal for Weal.
Lang needs to move Weal...Davidson...Bidlevskii...Blidstrand...Marantz and get set for future years...these players will not be back next year...we also need a goaltender to back up Hewitt as he is 20 next season...lets look at the big picture and not worry about one round of playoffs this year...this is by no means a slight to these players as they are all playing well but lets be like Brandon and build to have many years of playoff hockey
