2010 CANADA'S TEAM ** UPDATE

It's been a hectic day getting ready for tomorrow's Hall of Fame Game between the Riders and Lions at Mosaic Stadium. We'll have a full preview on 620 CKRM's Sports Cage this afternoon from 4-5pm MT. Rider offensive line coach Tom Freeman will be our guest on the Coaches Show from 5-6pm. I've also put together a preview story which will air on Rogers Sportsnet tonight.

As a bonus, here's the audio from both coaches from today:

Nice to see they left some room at the bottom of the picture to include the caption:
"2010 Grey Cup Champions"

Now get out there and earn it!!

Eric Tillman should be in the picture as well.

They shpuld have got a crate for Weston to stand on. I always thought he and Bagg were around the same height.

Did Kitwana shave his head??

Anon re: Tillman, really get over it already. Ancient history, what's done is done. Time to MOVE ON. Do you include your ex-girlfriends in your family photos too?

ET is not a player nor a paid employee. Absolutely no right to be in the pic. Or is that you posting anonymously? We know you like to stalk message boards.

With all the I miss Tillman stuff, as long as we're at it, I miss Austin, LaPolice, Hall, 99 cent Big Gulps, the Ex, $5 beers, and Rider fans who didn't bitch and complain all day.
And for the record, I don't miss Tillman one bit. Just move on.
If Tillman was here, would Morgan, Kornagay, Patrick, Frazier and McKenzie suddenly remember how to cover and tackle?

Kitwana is #26 now, not #46.

306 didn't forget them, KJ. We don't miss them!

I LOVE the team pic in number order. Always a Rider classic.

306,

Yes, I would bet Morgan, Kornagay, Patrick, Frazier and McKenzie would suddenly remember how to cover and tackle because Tillman would never have put up with anything less than the best.

And I have a sneaking suspicion that the "get over Tillman comments" is the same person posting multiple times. Silly you.

There are certain hot button topics that will draw a rise out of people. 99% of us are in agreement Eric Tillman is a non subject now.

Tillman was just outstanding at knowing how to play the game within the game. If his name is mentioned it's because he's dropping it. He's calling in favours from Naylor and Simmons etc., to put it out there.

For every job that comes open mentioning Tillman, you could make the same case Mike McCarthy should be looked at. McCarthy doesn't have that media pull Tillman has. He didn't give Naylor, Simmons, McCormick et all the nuggets that E.T did hence he doesn't get mentioned.

Tillman may get a job as an NFL Scout, or Southern U.S CFL Scout, but his days running a team are effectively over.

Yes Eric Tillman needs to be in this picture. Hopson stands in his way though. The family would have no problem with Eric returning as would the MAJORITY of fans.

Excellent blog Rod.

If Tillman should be in this pick then Shivers should have gotten a 2007 Grey Cup Ring.

Neither is happening and and thats the way it should be.

Your crazy. I would suggest the majority supported keeping ET here and would welcome him back in a heartbeat. He will run another team, there is little doubt about that it's just a matter of when. McCarthy? How has he done as a GM in the CFL?

just a tip for the photographer.
move 54 down to the 4th row behind 31, then shift them to the left (our left) then move 82 down on the end and you won't have a big gap for the team photo.

Love miller in the sunglasses though!

Well said Obama. For the sake of his family ET should avoid the limelight for at least 15 years. A low profile job in the south should give his family enough anonimity. His kids could grow up and not be subjected to schoolyard ridicule. His indescretion will never be totally overlooked in this city, no matter how the Riders are doing. Everyone wishes it hadn't happened, but it did and its time to move on. I wish the Tillman family happiness wherever they end up. I also hope people will give Brendan Taman and the coaches credit for their accomplishments. Its how you play in November that really counts.

What did McCarthy do? Well he had abit of success as an NFL Scout, and George Allan thought he was smart enough to be on his coaching staff in the USFL. He did okay in the CFL...(tongue planted firmly in cheek)

When he was in the CFL he won a few games. I think with Hamilton they had a good run, and won a Grey Cup along with one he picked up when he was in Toronto as GM.

Then he went to B.C, and thought it would be a good idea to replace Andre Ware with Damon Allen. That turned out pretty good for them.

See this is why it was good to run that article about the new CFL. I'm one of those guys that has been watching this league a long time, and didn't just stumble on the latest flavour of the month. I know a few people in this league who have come and gone.

Just wondering if Wally took any shots at Carm during his press conference. Those two should be the undercard during the pre-game show, LOL!!
