(Edmonton) Edmonton Eskimo President and CEO Rick LeLacheur announced today that effective immediately Danny Maciocia has been relieved of his duties as the club's General Manager and Director of Football Operations.

Long over due. machumpa should have been gone years ago.
Quote from LP article: “What did I do to alienate myself?” Maciocia asked rhetorically. “It’s not like I’ve been charged with anything, it’s not like I’m a womanizer.
Like we say here in Dilke." Duh yuh!!!"
Like there's somethin' wrong with havin' a healthy appreciation for the fairer sex?
None of us in Dilke will ever forget the horrific scene after the Esks won the Cup his first year at the helm, the final gun sounds and he drops to his knees and clasps his cheeks, tears streamin', like he'd just won a beauty pageant. Can't say what'd happen in the Queen City but here in Dilke it'd be more've a pumpin' yer fist in the air type a' deal, more've a manly man display of emotion if ya get what I'm sayin' here.
Quoted again from LP: “Maybe it’s the way I look. Maybe it’s the way I dress. Maybe it’s where I’m from.”
Again, like we say here in Dilke, "Ya think????"
Maciocia getting canned is actually bad news for the Riders. Eric Tillman will be the Esks next GM and the Evil Empire will be back, in spades.
Tom
Could Eric Tillman be the replacement ?
What are the cespool's thoughts ?

Maciocia being canned is bad news for the Riders. Eric Tillman will be their new GM and the Evil Empire will once again rule the west.
That is what going to happen Tillman will go to the Esks and make them a way better team and come back and beat us everytime, as usual we let the best guys go and then they come back to bite us in the butt, mark my words, this will happen.
Eric Tillman is not coming back to the CFL anytime soon, mark my words.
I wrote last week it partly was where he was from. He is from Quebec, and has zero contacts in the Football world. I think he worked part time for his parent's insurance business. That is not exactly how you build an Executive's resume to become a GM. His first appointee was retired Receiver Ed Hervey who has no contacts either in the Football world. I don't see Eric Tillman in the GM role only because Edmonton is community owned. Paul Jones may get the bump as the shelves are bare in the Eskimos front office. Tillman could then move in to Jones former job.

Maciocia was fired because of his reaction to winning the Grey Cup? Maciocia was fired because Dilke did not like his style? Maciocia was fired because a Grey Cup winning percentage of 25% was not good enough for the EE. Over in Dilke, a Grey Cup winning percentage of 3 % makes them experts on fashion, style, manner. and probably everything else. Someone in that town has an inflated ego; time to look beyond the fields of Dilke.
I wouldn't bet money, but there is an outside chance Neil Lumsden could make his way there as GM.

I'll bet Moe Lloyd wishes he'd stayed in Riderland.
Obama wrote it, it's gotta be true.
