Argos-Esks To Meet In Moncton

The Toronto Argonauts and Edmonton Eskimos will make history together.

They will clash in the first ever Canadian Football League regular season game in Atlantic Canada on Sept. 26 in Moncton. It will be a 2 p.m. kickoff at the new Stade Moncton 2010 Stadium, which will have a 20,000 capacity for this game.

The game will be officially known as Touchdown Atlantic. Fans chose that name in a contest organized by the Moncton Times & Transcript, which received more than 3,000 ballots from readers.

Why the evil empire? They have no fans outside Edmonton.

Why Edmonton? Because there's no way that Rogers Centre loses a Roughrider game, it brings more fans.

That blows. I am from SK living outside of Halifax and hoping for the Riders to be in Moncton. I haven't been to a live Rider game since the Grey Cup in TO. Major withdrawal. Damn you Eskimos!!!!!

10 bucks the fans start cheering "Go Rider's Go" at that game lol.

CFL attendance stats are available on the CFL website, so go there if you're interested.

When the Riders are on the road, they draw, on average, almost 5000 fans MORE than the next-best road draw, which was Calgary in 2009. I think the CFL WANTED the Riders at the Touchdown Atlantic game, but Toronto wants to see the Riders in SkyDome. Money talks, folks.... and the Riders always bring it.
